Here we go...

The Tories will lose the next election unless they commit to leaving the European convention on human rights, the leaders of the rightwing New Conservatives group have said.
As usual the Tory right pursue the disillusion of pure sovereignty. Miriam it won't save you....

Because of course, all they have to do is leave the ECHR and a massive tory majority is in the bag

Rather like leaving the EU, why aren't the benefits of staying in being widely publicised? It seems mental to anyone with a brain that throwing away our human rights just so that we can turn back a few rubber dinghies seems absolutely absurd, yet that is exactly where we are as this bunch of Tory populist cretins continue to pander to the far-thick who will vote ReformUK anyway.

They sell-off our (privatised) industries to overseas firms and governments, then bang on about sovereignty and 'taking back control'

It will be a very easy campaign for Labour if they do. “It is not taking away “their” rights it is taking away “yours”” or something like that.

Michelle Mone has condemned Rishi Sunak after he expressed concern at her admission she lied about involvement in a company that won lucrative deals during Covid, saying the government “knew about my involvement from the very beginning”.

After the former Conservative peer admitted in a BBC interview on Sunday that she had been untruthful in denying a connection to PPE Medpro, which made millions of pounds in profits over a contract to provide personal protective equipment, Sunak said No 10 was taking the case “incredibly seriously”.

In a furious response to the prime minister’s comments, Mone tweeted: “What is Rishi Sunak talking about? I was honest with the Cabinet Office, the government and the NHS in my dealings with them. They all knew about my involvement from the very beginning.”

The Tories have a habit of looking after their posh, public school educated chums.

Ms Mone, a Scottish lassie from Glasgow East, might be getting a bit nervous
And as always with these things..f@ck Joe Public and what’s best for the country..instead how we can we most benefit from it, line our already bulging pockets, and then blame all and sundry for our greed and ineptitude. We will grudgingly investigate each other and conclude nothing to see here plebs.

Pigs.

Water firms use up to 28% of bill payments to service debt in areas of England

More than a quarter of water bills in London and parts of the south of England have been spent paying interest on the debt held by privatised water companies, the Guardian can reveal.

People should be up in arms about this, absolutely scandalous the way the water companies operate. Basically like the Mafia.

Quite right. The way many water companies operate is literally criminal. But what can you expect when a life necessary resource is privatised and immediately turned into a cash cow? Even worse when customers have no alternative suppliers to choose between.

There are already false promises, from the Tories, of replacing the ECHR human rights with our very own British human rights.

Would you trust them? Lies about 'foreign courts' who have two British judges in it, when it was the British Supreme Court who ruled what was against the law. Only one of the seven illegalities were from the ECHR, and three were from British law.
