I don't know how to embed tweets but there's this:

"Last night in Exeter Liz Truss was cheered by Tory Party members for "vowing to get rid of solar farms" (says Sky News). So, in an energy crisis a contender for PM promises to wipe out 4% of the UK's electricity production... and is cheered?"

She’s starting to make Mad Nads sound like the voice of reason …

The problem I have with Sunak, apart from the billions he gave away to his Tory mates with dodgy PPE contracts and the billions which have been written off in furlough loans because of fraud and error, is he just looks like a well dressed spiv in front of a used car showroom. And no amount of PR spin and smoke and mirrors will change that image for me.

I actually think most people aren't interest in their meaningless culture wars. If the Tories want to win another election they need to starting reflecting seriously on 12 years of failure

As a minimum their top priorities should be reducing the cost of household and vehicle fuel and getting a grip on inflation. The rest is mostly froth in these crisis times.

Problem is they have managed to convince a vast swathe of the electorate that our current financial crisis is solely down to Covid and nothing to do with their terrible economic strategy, paying themselves and their chums billions of pounds and of course, it’s absolutely nothing to do with Brexit.

Every time Mad Lizzy referred to the economic crisis last night she added “because of Covid”.

It’s a big fat ****ing lie. A lie that could well win them the next general election.

I mostly agree, I do think she has a point of wastage on the amount of training and the cost attached.

NHS was advertising jobs at around 80k for diversity managers, how much equipment could that buy, wouldn’t it be better used towards something else?

As lawyer Nazir Afzal pointed out this morning, this diversity training worked out at less than one hour per person per year. Is that a really significant waste of time?

Culture wars are the ultimate bourgeois indulgence of the current political class. They're all fine and dandy for whipping people up until they start to notice they can't afford to heat their homes anymore, then they stop caring about whether trans-women are competing in sport or whether companies are offering "hey, try not to be racist everyone" courses.

Meanwhile Ireland (EU member state) has already paid off it's Covid debt and has a large budget surprlus.

40 minutes a year done online. An hour if you typed with one finger.

So they polled a "random" spectrum of people, who's minds are already made up that Truss would be a better prime minister than Starmer despite the fact she isn't the PM and hasn't been PM for even a second.

They should also ask them - would you still vote Tory even if they put Mr Blobby in charge?

Must have missed Starmer being PM, the same polls show him being a better option than Sunak ???
