Er………she is not trying to appeal to people like you. I think that stuff works on the people who have a say on whether she’ll be PM to be honest!

thing is those people didnt vote Thatcher for what she wore, probably didnt notice, its just weird really.

Thanks for taking the time to post that detailed response. I do take issue with the points you raise, I see her no more than a lightweight stooge; I absolutely cannot see her being a strong leader. The fact she isn't a performer, like Boris, isn't really a factor, non of them are.

Of the five standing I think any of the other four are a significant level above and would do a much better job. Personally, either Tugendhat or Mordaunt would get my vote if I had one. I do like the cut of Badenoch's jib though.

Can you explain why as you asked me to do?

Truss wearing one of Maggie Thatcher’s old blouses made me laugh.

How stupid they truly believe we are.View attachment 149791

Yeah, Penny Mordaunt copying her jacket. So obvious. Who did Sunak think he was wearing a shirt, Winston bloody Churchill?

It's because, to me, Truss sticks out like a sore thumb, but I understand that she is popular, which I don't get really. You mentioned she was you're second choice so wondered why.

As foreign secretary I like the way she stood up to Putin while the eu dithered. She has worked tirelessly to create trade deals Worldwide, brought 10 billion pounds worth of investment into the country by bringing together the World's largest investors to a meeting. Another billion pound expansion to Nissan UK that many feared would leave these shores after Brexit and she was the first one I've heard to have the balls to say she would suspend the green tax on fuel. Unfortunately she is not a performer like Boris, more of Theresa May in that regard but I think/hope she will be the strong leader this country needs right now. Obviously this won't be a popular opinion on this forum but that is how I see it. Who do you think should lead this country and why?
Sadly it looks like you have been played..the trade deals she has worked "Tirelessly " for are far worse than the seamless trade we had within the EU.

Fair enough, but can you explain what it is the two you mentioned have done for you to prefer them?

I’ve never seen Truss wearing a blouse like that, and the female members of my family tell me, that style is no where near fashionable atm.
A smart jacket is always an essential for a woman politician, and I could show you a dozen photos of Sunak wearing a shirt, nothing unusual for either of them.

I can’t find anything on Google of Truss wearing that style of blouse. She obviously wore it to link herself to the Tories Goddess, Thatcher.

The idea of her running the country frightens me. She has bungled and gaffa taped crap trade deals together, she is bewildered in any official meeting, she gets lost in rooms.
She’s just a weird bloody individual. A very strange woman.

Thanks for explaining. For a minute there I thought you were just taking a cheap childish shot. That's Truss out then for wearing a blouse not particularly like the one you found a pic of Thatcher wearing. Who's next?

Surely you can see she's trying to 'walk the Thatch', in an attempt to give her some kind of gravitas?

Aside from all that, she doesn't half talk a load of bollocks, which, to be fair, most of them do.

Very very odd. Don't they want to win the next election ?

Both parties have made themselves unelectable by choosing odd leaders in opposition, but the Conservatives seem hell bent on doing it with two years left.

Guess what, it doesn’t matter what I think, because of this completely undemocratic excercise in Tory navel gazing, I don’t have a vote in who will be my country’s next PM.
No wonder we end up with people like Johnson if people can’t see when they are being manipulated in such a clumsy and obvious way.

Now please stop quoting me, I’ve had you on ignore for years and I really don’t want or need your drivel.

No, I can't quite grasp the in depth political understanding of the NSC hive mind. Too deep for me. Obviously you are all right and the Tories are all idiots. That's why the public keep voting in Labour governments.
