Trade minister Penny Mordaunt has just announced her candidacy in the race to replace Boris Johnson.

Announcing the move on Twitter, Mordaunt said: “Our leadership has to change. It needs to become a little less about the leader and a lot more about the ship.”

She put out a video, clearly been working on it for a while.

As for her, the big lie about Turkey joining the EU and how the UK did not have a veto sticks in the mind.

Isn't she ERG as well ? Big red flag if so.

The claims Johnson hasn’t resigned. Lots of posters winding each other up into greater and greater outrage. Perhaps some people will miss Johnson the hate figure which is why they have also turned on his potential successors with wild claims. Clearly meaningful political debate is beyond a lot of people.

Exactly, it's just a few NSC posters winding each other up with wild claims and turning on his potential successors, with no factual basis whatsoever

They should all grow up

Just a reminder of who the current Conservative leadership candidates are – we’re on nine now!

They are as follows:

Rishi Sunak
Sajid Javid
Jeremy Hunt
Nadhim Zahawi
Penny Mordaunt
Grant Shapps
Suella Braverman
Kemi Badenoch
Tom Tugendhat

Both Hunt and Javid would continue with Rwanda policy but neither would scrap the BBC licence fee. Javid would scrap the NI rise for social care and fund that through efficiency savings in the NHS (quite why they didn't do this in the first place is a mystery). Hunt would have Esther McVeigh as his deputy and would look at reducing business taxes first.

do they?

i'm a bit scared now, are at the very top of your field?

I've not even opened the gate, but we all do score on the test.

The thing with the test is you can score highly out of 20 be a psychopath and be perfectly 'normal'.
Yet someone can score slightly lower and be a 'Hollywood' psychopath.

It's all to do with the combination of boxes ticked.

But many, many, CEO's do score high, it's part of what got them to the top.

Sky News are reporting that Liz Truss is expected to announce her leadership bid within the next 24 hours, which would make her the tenth candidate to throw their hat in the ring.

The foreign secretary has already got the backing of work and pensions secretary Therese Coffey and has been burnishing her public profile in recent months.

But despite her popularity among party members, figures like Jeremy Hunt and Penny Mordaunt have recently edged ahead in some bookies’ estimations

Interesting paradox on one hand a BAME majority in their leadership candidates and then breaking in Geneva convention on asylum policy.

It is strange isn't it?

Just the right amount of diversity within the long list to make them bang on 2022 trend and yet there are the likes of Suella Braverman railing against it

Unsurprisingly, the bookies (SkyBet) only have one of the BAME candidates in their top 5. They clearly can’t see the Tory members electing a person of colour unless it is Dishy Rishi

And is anyone was in any doubt whatsoever that Johnson has been taking the piss out of the British electorate for the last 2.5 years, Knighthoods for Dorries, Dacre and Stratton and had to be advised against giving his wife beating Father one

Boris Johnson ‘considering peerage for Nadine Dorries’

I don't believe he has really taken any of his tenure as PM seriously. Sunak alluded to it in his resignation letter.

What does your heritage (BAME or white or purple or whatever) have to do with breaking Geneva convention on a asylum policy. Some of theses candidates are making Thatcher look like a socialist

Wow guys thanks for your concern about me.....or perhaps just general trolling.:lolol:

Believe it or not, I have not had a chance to get on and post much as I have been a busy boy.

So I have a spare half an hour now, if you want to chat, never ever has the boots run from anyone, so won't be starting any day soon.punk:

The more observant of you may have seen months ago my admission of being wrong, when I put it in my profile location that I was eating pie.........humble.

Why was that, I hear you ask???

Because it was clear that Boris had overcooked it IMO and was ready for de throning.

That said I don't like the way a few went about it, Rishi has cooked his goose as far as I am concerned, one of the main stabbers if you ask me, he didn't take long to have a promo video out.
Lack of respect from me for that, so if he gets the job, I might have to spoil on the next GE.

If Hunt gets in, I will be spoiling too.

This needs a true brexiteer to run the country so you guys can forget 48 voters of against Brexit Starmer getting anywhere near the job, lying through his teeth saying he now will back it.

I don't care what you say but Big Boris with his Big decision making got stuff done.
The Russians found him a handful.....what better trait for leading against the bully boys of Russia.
Getting us out of that tinpot EU was a masterstroke and making the quick decision to get AZ vaccines without all the EU red tape again shows, that he was on it.

Did Boris start any wars? he just led the way and tried to stop them fast.

Starmer would still be thinking and sitting on the fence in all the big decision moments that need decisive action IMO.

How the hell he got away with chucking beers down his neck, shows how corrupt the system is at times.

He will feel used and abused when randy Nandy passes him to lead labour...........just a matter of time as I have said in the past.

I am actually quite surprised that most of you didn't like him he was too liberal for me at times.

For the record, I never had a problem with Boris about his lying as all politicians do it, he had just exceeded his limit.

But thank you big hitter Boris for Brexit and getting those weapons at breakneck speed to Ukraine, it what has been the hardest political time for any PM to have led.

go on then mouldy, as "the boots never ever runs away",

which of bungle****'s actions was the tipping point for you to realise that, the custard filled matress shouldn't be allowed to run a bath, let alone a country?
