It is a fact that Johnson hasn’t been to see the Queen to resign.
It is a fact there is no resignation letter.
It is a fact he is still living in Downing Street/Chequers.

Don’t try to belittle people because you don’t agree.

From what I've read, he doesn't need to send a resignation letter, or see the Queen (yet). He's basically announced his intention to stand down when the next Tory leader has been chosen. At that point he will go to the Queen with his letter. It's been reported that he contacted the Queen to tell her that he intended to step aside on Thursday morning, before it was publicly announced.

The claims Johnson hasn’t resigned. Lots of posters winding each other up into greater and greater outrage. Perhaps some people will miss Johnson the hate figure which is why they have also turned on his potential successors with wild claims. Clearly meaningful political debate is beyond a lot of people.

If you accept the Daily Express as fact!! a Sage insider has accused Sunak of causing the second wave of Covid.

So, in fact, he hasn’t resigned but just said he is going to. He hasn’t gone yet.

I think you’re the one making things up. I don’t see any outrage either. More a sense of the inevitable that he has managed to stay in No.10 seemingly with the goal to disrupt the process of finding a new leader. There’s no reason at all for him to be there. The role of deputy PM exists for just such a situation. And if there was outrage, it’s appropriate. It is outrageous that he has been allowed to stay on in No.10. Especially considering his history of chicanery.

Johnson has stated he wants to stay on to ensure a smooth and trusted of power and to maintain consistency. People have suggested that isn’t his intention.

You think Johnson has clung on for honourable reasons?

My personal view is that he’s deluded enough to think he can turn this around. There’s not much of a chance he’ll get away with it. But so far he’s had it all his own way, nothing would surprise me.

What he’s done fits no definition of political resignation I can think of.

You think we will miss Johnson? Now that is making stuff up!

I sort of see why you’re saying but I think you’re interpreting it wrong. Just my opinion, of course.

What wild claims have been made about his potential successors? Specifically?

Someone mentioned Gordon Brown’s fairly long drawn out departure as a comparison. Not exactly the same but similar. I had a quick Google of some of these scandals people are mentioning and couldn’t find much beyond the Twitter accounts people have linked to. Lots of innuendo which people choose to believe if it suits. I’m not defending any of them. I just wish politics wasn’t like a reality game show with the observers as bad as the contestants. Anyway, it’s a lovely day. Enjoy.

I really don’t see that anyone can be compared to Johnson.

Trying to compare him to Gordon Brown is a nonsense! Gordon Brown was and still is a decent honest bloke who wasn’t very good at PR. Johnson is a serial liar - proven - cheat and bully. I seriously think he has a personality disorder - sociopath? Narcissism? - where he sees himself as infallible, doesn’t accept that anyone else has the right to question what he does and possibly actually believes his own lies. That is quite apart from the fact that he is, in my view at least, a rubbish Prime Minister.

Most of the people who are seeking to replace him are either crooks, have a seriously jaundiced view of their own capabilities or are just supremely dim. None of them can hold a candle to the complex personality that is Johnson. Any one of them - or at least most of them - would probably be better at least in terms of being half way competent even if one disagrees totally with what they’re doing..

Trade minister Penny Mordaunt has just announced her candidacy in the race to replace Boris Johnson.

Announcing the move on Twitter, Mordaunt said: “Our leadership has to change. It needs to become a little less about the leader and a lot more about the ship.”

Gillian Keegan rumoured to be standing for leader.

Used to think she was OK, but another career soiled by association with Johnson. Refused to step down and is now congratulating Maria Caulfield on a minister role in Johnson's zombie cabinet

I met her in Portsmouth at a dinner in May. Her husband, Michael, was the after-dinner speaker. Well, I say after-dinner speaker, it was more like a lecture.

How are you planning on spending all the money the candidates are going to give us? Might approach Bloom with an offer he can't refuse.

You write that like it's a bad thing.

Most people who reach the very top of their field score highly in the 20 point scale of psychopathy.
