I am tempted by the equivalent of my start of season insurance bet (the The Albion will be relegated.....). I don't think Johnson is bothered about winning the next general election, and if he resigns now he will go down in history as the UK's worst ever PM (worse than Cameron and Lloyd George). So he won't resign.....and only a confidence vote defeat will get him out.....

So how long will it take for the 1922 to allow another leadership challenge? Decision, decisions.....

Whatever, this is going full blood let.

Which is nice :lolol:

(I hope for the nation's sake this will be quick but I'm happy to put £50 on Johnson still being PM by the end of the year.)

Believe there are pension implications leaving before a full term and we know how skint the **** is!

A bit like the chairman giving the doomed manager the dreaded vote of confidence, perhaps?

I can't believe the woman would be so politically naive as to stick by Boris now. Misplaced loyalty indeed.

When Boris has gone and there is a leadership contest those candidates who publicly opposed Boris or resigned their positions will occupy the moral high ground and she will be fighting an uphill battle.

With her sense of geography, it'll be the wrong hill

Whether he stays or goes Sunak etc are only taking calculated punts in terms of their own careers - by resigning, I suspect they’re wagering on him going very soon so they can step in. Nothing much about honesty and integrity involved with any of this cabinet (if there was they would have done something long before now)

The non-dom did for Sunak, and he knows it. I'd be staggered if he stands. His resignation letter was cutting though, whereas Javid was less so. The Saj has stood before and I wouldn't be surprised if he stands again.
Don't think we'll have to wait too long to find out.

Lyrics to 'Should I stay or should I go' (first verse to be sung by Boris, second by Carrie):

Darling you''ve got to let me know, should I stay or should I go
If you say that you are mine, I''ll be here ''til the end of time
So you got to let me know, should I stay or should I go

It''s always tease, tease, tease, you''re happy when I''m on my knees
One day is fine, the next is black, so if you want me off your back
Well come on and let me know, should I stay or should I go

Wasn't there word quite recently that BJ had delayed a cabinet reshuffle because he was concerned it would reveal he'd promised the same promotions to different people to get their support? Could be interesting if that was the case and these resignations force some movements.

I've lost track of where I'm reading things, here or twitter. But I'm sure I saw someone suggesting that there is a 1922 leadership vote soon, and some are basing their candidacy on changing rules so they could have another vote, and that enough letters are in that it would trigger a vote immediately, so could happen as early as next wednesday? May have been someone's wild speculation.

All these rats scurrying off the ship. I hope it's the last we see of any of them.

They've propped up this disgusting regime for too long and now we're expected they have standards and morals?

The 1922 Committee elections are next week.

Two going are not enough to force the charlatan out.
