Agree with you. Even with Trump, he got to a certain point where even the barking mad who'd been propping him up deserted him.

This is that time

Trump only went after he lost the election. And even then, not immediately.

Johnson can stay as long as he can dodge a public vote

I'll say it now. Johnson will survive this.

Is the 1922 committee a public vote? If they change the rules and force another no confidence?

Protestations of support appear to have dried up rapidly. Still a lot of cabinet yet to declare though.

More than a touch of Robinson/Maxwell. :lolol:

No, no he won't.

His 'survival' of the vote of confidence was a stay.

No career politician of any competence will want to step into the breach.

He's doomed

Good question.

The 1922 committee CAN arrange another confidence vote.

I suspect it may do so even though many think they can't.

More Cabinet ministers will resign and the prime minister “will be shown the door”, according to Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen.

Speaking to the PA news agency, the MP for North West Leicestershire said: “I guess they (Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid) finally got where much of the party got weeks if not months ago, that we just can’t carry on like this. What a shambles. It has been a shambles.”

How ironic that Bridgen is calling this state of affairs a shambles. This bloke lied under oath according to a High Court judge and has been investigated for sexual misconduct, paid lobbying and not declaring members interests. He is part of the problem, he personifies the shambles, he IS the shambles.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to be wrong. Like, really REALLY like to be wrong. But I won’t get my hopes up so I’ll believe it when I see it.

The party will do him now. I'm not convinced those two resigned over what the country think, this is coming from the grass roots and the back benches.

Sunak doesn't need the hassle anyway and Javid is principled but see the writing on the wall.

The rest of the Cabinet know that a back stabber has less chance of winning the resulting leadership election. They will sit back and let the machine eat him.

Evening squire. Would you mind explaining what you mean by the bit in italics, and what this has to do with getting Johnson out if he decides he won't resign?

The Bumley twit on radio 5 has just announced Cameron Norrie's winbledon win and said 'he's talking to Rishi Sunak here' :lolol:

He faces his sternest test this evening.

He'll be scraping that wallpaper off the walls of their flat, trying to save as much of it as he can.

Sunak doesn't need the hassle and Javid is deeply principled.

Not till I see Mouldy Boots demanding Johnson resign will I consider it likely.

Latest news - Gove is reportedly sticking with the greased pig.

If only it were made of the same stuff the Napoleon had in his gaff on Elba....
