Hmm.

Are you sure he didn't say:-

"We have moved into the 18th century".

Evening squire. Would you mind explaining what you mean by the bit in italics, and what this has to do with getting Johnson out if he decides he won't resign?

Wotcha.

He was pretty much doomed by the sheer volume of Tory MPs who wanted him out.

The Tories will find a way of getting rid of him. The 'rules' are subject to change. Remember how long fixed term parliaments lasted?

Anyway, you can get 10/1 on him lasting the year on the exchanges.

“Our political correspondents hear the following names look likely to stay put:

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng
Defence Secretary Ben Wallace
Home Secretary Priti Patel
Justice Secretary Dominic Raab
International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan
Brexit opportunities minister Jacob Rees-Mogg
Scotland Secretary Alister Jack
Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis
Wales Secretary Simon Hart” BBC

The new Health Secretary and Chancellor will be picked from this list I suspect. How utterly depressing. Loyalty trumping talent. Entitlement trumping, meritocracy. Total incompetence trumping honour, integrity and ability.

Whether he stays or goes Sunak etc are only taking calculated punts in terms of their own careers - by resigning, I suspect they’re wagering on him going very soon so they can step in. Nothing much about honesty and integrity involved with any of this cabinet (if there was they would have done something long before now)

I am tempted by the equivalent of my start of season insurance bet (the The Albion will be relegated.....). I don't think Johnson is bothered about winning the next general election, and if he resigns now he will go down in history as the UK's worst ever PM (worse than Cameron and Lloyd George). So he won't resign.....and only a confidence vote defeat will get him out.....

So how long will it take for the 1922 to allow another leadership challenge? Decision, decisions.....

Whatever, this is going full blood let.

Which is nice :lolol:

(I hope for the nation's sake this will be quick but I'm happy to put £50 on Johnson still being PM by the end of the year.)
