The one ray of light is that Johnson is predicted to lose his seat at next election now that would be justice to be the first PM ever to lose his seat at the election

He is WAY too politically savvy for that. The Tories could possibly be wiped out in London at the next general election where he is almost universally hated now; he’ll be parachuted into a super-safe Tory seat.

Just watching the end of the Beeb news and their outside No.10 and there's 'Mad World' being played in the background. Sounds like the current party inside is more of a sombre affair!!

I think the way the whole country is going he could go into the safest Tory seat in the country and still lose

He will end up in history as the most hated and the biggest liar and Cheat ever to lead this country

Yup. Someone like Peter Bone will get a peerage so they can **** off to the Lords and Johnson can have his seat in the Commons

For all those saying best Labour can hope for is a collation. I think if Johnson stays 1997 will look like a cake walk compared to 2024 for the tories
I think if Johnson stays they will lose bigger than they did in 97

Brighton factually.....
Are we really surprised the result would be anything other than a resounding vote of confidence for Boris, we should shut up and move on, forget about the lies and parties during “lockdown” let him now buckle down and deal with real issues like….
The fall out from Brexit and everything that brings, oh hang on, he had a hand in that too, oh wait, wait a minute…

Zelenskyy, can I pop over for a photo shoot….

Utter, Utter TW@T.

Shame the friggin labour leader is a wet cabbage.

Where is the passion, British politics is broke.

They already have plans in place apparently.

We are never getting rid of him, are we.
Yes, it seems disappointing.

There was a chance tonight to cut out the cause of a lot of the rot and start the long path back dragging the country off its knees.

He'll cling on a bit now. But not for much longer.

Johnson is a grade a c unt I am starting to hate him even more than I hated Thatcher .

Shameless and unforgivable tonight his interview on sky made my TV very nervous as I could of out my foot through it !!!

Have sent an email to local mp Peter bottomley saying to enjoy his last 2 years as Worthing is turning red in 2024

Well done for being bothered enough to write to your MP. Just done similarly to register my dismay. Hopefully others will to

The proposed reshuffle (which back benchers are screaming out for) is going to be interesting.

How pissed off would you be if you made yourself look silly supporting all the nonsense and you get kicked out ?

He can't kick out too many - he has think of the next confidence vote and losing votes in that. If 32 votes switch against him he's gone.

Think Johnson's admission yesterday "he'd do it all again" put on another 30-50 defectors. More evidence he was never sorry, just sorry he got busted

Unfortunately because of the way the Tories play our electoral system they could lose an enormous number of votes and still win an election. At the last election they only increased their share of the vote by just over 1% yet won loads of extra seats. For context, the Lib Dems did a better job increasing their number of votes and vote share, the Greens too, but look what happened to them. Tories added only 300,000 more votes and their majority was huge, Lib Dems added over a million and lost seats, Greens added the same number as the Tories and got nothing extra. The Tories have become very good at making sure they win and lose votes in the "right" seats to keep power, so I'd suggest any claims of them being wiped out in the next election might be premature. It's interesting though how the news talks about all the middle aged and elderly people having had enough of Johnson when the next election will have a lot of first time voters who have only ever really known a Tory shambles as Government. If they can be engaged and motivated to vote it could make a huge difference...anecdotally it's been suggested the Lewes Constituency Tories have very very few members under 30 (the rumour not so long ago was just one) and rely on the Conservative club/association at Sussex Uni for youth presence.

The last thing Starmer and The Labour party want is to push on now an instigate depfeffel's end as PM.

Labour need him contesting the next election.

FPTP needs to go, we share this with only Vatican and Belarus

Our democracy is not fit for purpose, millions of voters have no say.

We need complete reform of our political system its broken

and if they lose those 1% they lose dozens of seats. the system is not weighted in Tories favour, it is weighted in favour of parties with a large popular base. it would weight in favour of another party if it got its act together and proposed a manifesto that attracted 30% minimum nationally.
