What would have been the reaction if he'd missed the Questions to have the call ? He'd be equally slaughtered...............couldn't win with this one. I suspect Putin won't be immediately available even if Boris does call him.

Probably a good thing the call was cancelled. The bloke's unfit to do anything, let alone get involved in matters of potential international war :lolol:

Is there such a thing as an honest politician?

Statements like that really piss me off. Yes, most MPs are honest and want the best for their constituents: Tory, Labour or LibDem,

Johnson has taken mendacity to new levels but don't think everyone stoops to his level

One Teddy Maybank did not seem to think so though, mind you, its cold out today, maybe he had his scarf a little too tightly tied around his neck and cut some of his circulation off ?

Hold on….. only one opinion allowed alert…..

May was a lot more damaging….

Would it be fair to say that those who are broadly supportive of the Government (and by default Johnson) reckon there is probably no such thing as an honest politician? If so, that would make political sense to me.......

Yes as pointed out in a post above, there are honest politicians in all parties.

Generally I think that individuals find it far easier to claim 'they are all the same' or 'it makes no difference' than to admit that they have done something really stupid (often repeatedly), had the penny finally drop and actually realised that they have cocked up badly with what they have done.

As pointed out in a different post above

The PM is expected to answer questions in Parliament after making a statement such as the one made today. That's all that was said in what you quoted. I see no reference to PMQs.

Crossed wires, I think.

dazzer6666 was saying that Johnson had to turn up and therefor cancel the call to Putin.

Gwylan was pointing out that Johnson actually asked to turn up and make a statement at that time, which he could have done at any time of his choosing. (ie it wasn't PMQs which is a set day/time).

I’d urge everyone on this thread to read Sue Gray’s report and not to comment on anything until after the Met have concluded their police investigation.

Proper oratory from Starmer, could hear a pin drop in the house. Struck the right tone, statesman-like. In stark contrast to Johnson's bluster and subject-dodging.

The longer the PM hangs on, the worse it is for the Tories in my view. He is fatally wounded.

Starmer was a little gobsmacked when he was reminded that he let Jimmy Saville escape prosecution by Boris. Never knew that kept it quiet

Incredible though it may seem

NSP-1-750x400.jpg

is still the 'longest running farce in London' apparently
