Gods country fortnightly
Listening to Johnson you'd think the UK was the only country on earth that had administered Covid vaccines, over and over again

It's the cringingly sycophantic questions from the increasingly sparse back bench that I find vomit inducing

I'm hoping that the sparsity of that Tory backbench is meaningful: ie they're leaving to submit their letters. They've got a PM who needs their support in the house right now, and instead they've left. That's got to be indicative of how solid (or not) his support is?

‘king hell!

He has put the fight for his own career above a call to Putin to de-escalate the Ukraine crisis.

Unbelievable.

He's just been asked if he will be talking to Putin immediately he leaves the chamber.

Johnson - I will be talking to President Putin at the earliest opportunity. So that's a yes, he's cancelled the call in order to try and save his sorry skin.

And yet so many back bench conservatives have, in the last hour and a half, claimed that it is the most important thing happening in the world and it's what the Government should be concentrating on. It's simply farcical

What would have been the reaction if he'd missed the Questions to have the call ? He'd be equally slaughtered...............couldn't win with this one. I suspect Putin won't be immediately available even if Boris does call him.

Proper oratory from Starmer, could hear a pin drop in the house. Struck the right tone, statesman-like. In stark contrast to Johnson's bluster and subject-dodging.

The longer the PM hangs on, the worse it is for the Tories in my view. He is fatally wounded.

One Teddy Maybank did not seem to think so though, mind you, its cold out today, maybe he had his scarf a little too tightly tied around his neck and cut some of his circulation off ?

The exchange today was dispiriting; if Johnson survives this, then the tories who supported him have simply prioritised loyalty over integrity.

Starmer is certainly correct when he says the PM besmirches all who work with him.....

Who would have known, that if you vote for a proven serial liar, that he will lie.

It’s not rocket science, the man has lied his entire life, what made anyone think he would stop in Number 10?

It wasn't a PMQ. Johnson himself requested the session to make a statement (something that the Speaker has pointed out to an MP who made a point about the waste of time)

Why was the call cancelled ?
Because Johnson wanted to make a statement to defend himself from Sue Gray's update.
Why was Sue Gray giving an update ?
Because the Met are investigating the PM and she can't present the report
Why are the Met ...

..( I think you can see where I'm going with this )

The lies are just stacking up at a rate faster than can be reported, have independent reports written, or be defended. There is only one person responsible that this farce which has happened and continues to happen day by day and that is the person who puts himself above the Ukraine situation, Covid rules, Parliamentary sovereignty, Lying to the Queen, Lying to Northern Ireland etc etc

Is there such a thing as an honest politician?

I didn't call it a PMQ....point remains though, he was going to get slammed either way. Not long to go now anyway, Met should complete their enquiries in the next [insert date of most effective distraction incident]
