As a historian I can't wait to see which of the re-education camps I end up getting sent to.

Well, it was nice knowing you all.

If you speak against Britain (government) you will be classed as radicalised, and sent on a Prevent course!

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...d-britain-could-deradicalised-prevent-scheme/

They’re not even trying to hide their fascism now.

Edit, beaten to it.

I can see the courts having lots of fun were 'extreme hatred of Britain' extended to include extreme hatred of the tories or, indeed, if you are a Scots Nat, extreme hatred of The English Hegemony.

However Sunak won't win.

He won't but he may just give Thick Lizzie an idea for an even more extreme, stupid and criminally fascist idea.......

Pretty good odds that 'villifying Britain' will end up meaning 'villifying us and/or our vision of Britain' given that their hatchet man at the BBC has decided that even the milque toast ribbing of 'Mock The Week' is too much criticism for them. To re-work a recent Frankie Boyle gag, as their heavy fascist leanings are coupled with similar levels of incompetence, we'll all see each other on the replacement bus service to the re-education camps.

Meanwhile some LGBT+ Conservatives are surprised to hear that some of their colleagues are bigots! https://www.theguardian.com/politic...ts-are-being-weaponised-in-leadership-contest

Well, who'd have thought it? I'd never suggest that any single part of your identity should dictate your politics, but I'd always presumed that minorities in right wing parties were actually clear eyed about the company they were keeping. Its not like Sayeeda Warsi hasn't spent the last few years telling all who'll listen about her experiences of the deep rooted Islamaphobia for example.

If Truss and Sunak have to appeal to the old school, Section 28 supporting Thatcherites that make up the party, then any fancy modern ideas about equality and respect for all were obviously going to get thrown under the bus.

I must say that I like the penultimate paragraph, when Truss's campaign indicates that they'd be happy to come and tell LGBT+ members what they think they want to hear in private after they've spent weeks saying the opposite in public to get her elected.

I thought Thick Lizzy had become the go-to name

I can hear her now, stoking up anxiety about crime:

"I am saddened to announce that tonight there's going to be a jail break, somewhere in this town."

I hope it doesn't extend to criticism of our sporting teams, else we're all screwed.

“ campaign insisted the policy would not see people critical of UK Government policy referred for deradicalisation”.

Why would they feel the need to insist that?

****ing state of this country. I hope there is civil disorder soon.

What a disturbing wish that is.

I meant to type “disobedience”, a very different thing. You can wipe your mouth, put some clean pants on and get back to your colouring book, for it was nought but a typo.

Sorry to disappoint.

Good to see the potential leaders of this country are focused on the big problems we face as a country right now:

woke nonsense
transgender rights
being mean to Britain

What an absolute collection of f**kwits. A puddle of congealed piss would do a better job. Utter, utter cretins.

If I meant disorder, I’d stand by it. I most certainly wouldn’t retract it because someone like you found it uncomfortable.

Now, if you wish to carry on acting like a child please take it to the bear pit, there’s nobody there but that never stopped you arguing before. Nobody wants this nonsense on the main board.

Peace. Out.

I think it's inevitable, the poll tax riots finished Thatcher off and the cost of living crisis and Tory utopia of epic wealth inequality will push people over the edge

I think so. If one can get arrested for merely protesting or not liking the government, people are going to think they may as well go nuts. They’ll get nicked either way.

The nasty party are severely underestimating the level of rage that is building.
