Just heard an interview with David Bannean who is trying to get Johnson on the membership ballot paper.

The plan seems to be to get the party members to vote on Johnson staying/going before a vote on a new leader.

He said Johnson is aware of this and lawyers are already involved, this has been backed by several party backers as well.

If the public elect a Labour Government then they will have looked at the issues and acted accordingly. If they elect a Tory Government then that same public will have been ‘gaslit.’ That’s basically your position and it is one shared by a number of other posters. That’s why there isn’t much point in discussing politics on NSC.

There is a difference. The Tories are essentially owned by oligarchs and a handful of non-dom press barons that do the heavy lifting and will continue to gaslight the public aided by their army of client journalists.

So saddle up folks for more of the same, the following will continue to be dressed up as beneficial to us all

Tax cuts and more cuts to public services
Ongoing confrontation with EU (its going so bad its all they've got)
Weaponisation of asylum seekers
General attack on rights and freedom of UK citizens
Attacks on press freedom and so call lefty lawyers

if you think you can help contact party chairman Ben Elliot he will show you the ropes...

Ha ha. So they're going to try to change the rules NOW - half way through the game!! And the giveaway is "backed by several party backers" (ie, the unelected billionaires who want their own stooge in Downing Street, and think they can bypass normal democratic processes/procedures!)

As far as I am aware the two women you mentioned have got where they are today by their own hard work and determination .
They haven't played the victim card or expected guilt ridden fools to kneel for them . Why don't you get in touch though Twitter ( if that is possible) and call them out for being " BAME traitors " Would be interested to know if you get a response .

I am afraid I don't look back on the Tony Bair PM years with any nostalgia at all although I would like to reset the clock back to 1997 and live those years again , just to make a few changes in decisions that would make current life a bit more fruitful and bearable .

As for people arriving on inflatable boats being treated like criminals , are they being housed in prisons , I wasn't aware of that and shocking if true . Perhaps under a labour government they would be given a Dominos pizza and £200 clothing voucher upon arrival , then transported by coach to a 4 star hotel with full board , laundry service and spending money provided while waiting for suitable free housing to be found for them

Disclaimer: To my shame, I voted conservative in 2010 and I hugely regret it.

The undertone of 'Labour aren't fiscally responsible' actually really grates on me nowadays. Have you ever bothered to CHECK any of your assumptions, or is it just based on the socail narrative that 'conservatives balance the books and Labour spend / borrow?'. LET ME HELP YOU;

Labour borrow less. The conservative party have borrowed more each year that they've been in power than Labour, in every government ever.
Labour pay off debt more often. Labour have paid off more of the debt in absolute terms (despite being in power far less), and on a per-year basis, and as a percentage than the Tories.

Conservative governments have borrowed more than Labour, every year

Council tax has risen every year under this government

Spend on education has plummeted

Corruption has gone through the roof

BREXIT has absolutely devastated our growth
Brexit is a nightmare.png

And the fabled massive trade opportunities are in fact huge reductions
Brexit has killed trade.png

But I’m still a little troubled by this.

Using words like traitor is taking too far, and yes people aren’t defined by their ethnicity, they are defined how they want to define themselves, just like we all are.

However, the thing that troubles me is that people who’s direct descendants were given safe passage into this country, taken in, educated etc etc, then representing a party which is open about creating a hostile environment and deporting people in similar trouble to Africa. I understand why people who are on danger of being deported, or who are being demonised or anyone who feels solidarity in their plight would then describe these people in unflattering terms

it may trouble you but thats their business. more over, a positive view of one policy does not mean positive view on another. immigration is complex issue, wrongly boiled down to people crossing the channel, some might believe different immigrants have greater right than others.

Tremendous. Let them continue for as long as they can.

At least while they're ****ing each other over they aren't spending all their time ****ing the rest of us over.

In the meantime, the government, who bleated that we cannot possibly change a leader whist the Ukraine war is going on, is completely paralysed with nobody actually governing.
Johnson is missing Cobra meetings, Patel refuses to go before the Home Office affairs committee, and Raab pulled out of a Bill of Rights session. They are lazy good for nothings who think they can do what they want. In normal everyday life, they'd be sacked and escorted out of the building.

I can actually see the Tory Party splitting in 2 as a result of this. Those that respect the processes and rules and are the continuation of the decent Tory Party in one part, and the cowboy Cult Of Johnson in the other.

Wouldn't have just been easier to post a link to Russ Jones' excellent tweet rather than just copy all of his graphs and lists?

A cowboy cult (which the puppet Truss will continue) supported by some very powerful organisations including the Express and Mail.

the idea was shot down. another fringe member doesnt change the fact the rules have been set out. the parliamentry party determine the leader election rules. i reckon if some cohort of members really want him as leader, they should start a new party, as it'll probably implode if he were to somehow force way onto the membership ballot.

Lie after lie after lie. The strikes were voted for with over 80% in favour so not wild cat strikes, The RMT don't donate to Labour.

SKR was clever in using the debate to quote the would-be leaders in their own words.
