They are inevitably facing a few years in the wilderness. Just got to wait a while like the country did with Johnson.

Whoever takes the crown will be forced to fill the cabinet with the same fruit loops.

In tonight's standard Newsnight interview of two tory MPs, Rachel McLean MP asked why the programme was focusing the questions on the (transparently dog whistling) issue of how to define a woman. The dead give away came at the end of the programme when the presenter's justification was 'Look - it's on the front page of The Daily Mail'. An open admission that the BBC's flagship news programme is now taking its agenda from a newspaper that has been deemed too unreliable a source for Wikipedia.

I agree and find it extraordinary that, regardless of their political view, some bods actually want the country run by someone whom they consider to be wholly unsuited to the task. If the boot were on the other foot, would I prefer a Corbynista to run the country rather than a Blairite, just so the Conservatives would look good. Not on my life.
I suppose that Labour have been out of office for so long that some supporters have understandably become rather frustrated.
I hold, perhaps an old fashioned view, that it is good for the country to have both a strong and competent Government and an equally strong and competent Opposition, whichever party is in power.
PS, The choice of Johnson or Corbyn in 2019 was not a high point in British politics.

,
I think it was more a low point in democracy, whilst a known liar and immoral clown was projected as 'a man of the people', whilst Corbyn who despite his faults was a genuine and caring man was vilified......just so the wealthy didn't lose any of their wealthy. Tragically the voters 'brought it' and the PLP stabbed him in the back.

Unfortunately, non-dom media moguls dictating the agenda is nothing new.

Incidentally, the Mail has 9 pages of Mordaunt under the microscope. Something worries them...

Are Corbyn supporters still saying this?

Do you think the electorate didn't notice all the infighting, momentum taking over the LLP and threatening to deselect popular MPs, MPs resigning over anti sematism, the refusal to admit to or deal with anti sematism, the constant shadow cabinet reshuffles or the crackpot un-costed manifesto?

Is Mordaunt a favourite with the membership or just in the media?

Apparently her book is upsetting quite a few in the party.

Partly agree with this. Corbyn was obviously inept and it was clearly demonstrated by the failure to deal with the anti-semitism issue. That doesn't preclude that the media had it in for him for decades prior to this.

I don't think Stato is 'triggered', although I do recognise that this is a loaded term currently. Think this is deflection, because you don't want to confront the bleedingly obvious.

Does anyone think any of the candidates will seriously embrace net-zero? Not mentioned at all so far...

with the membership, favorite before the contest started. dont know where the hostility comes from just as its unclear where the popularity comes from. maybe she's own person? described as centre left on radio this morning. book review seems positive, and maybe thats unnerving for some.

Other people dealt with the same point he made yesterday. When Labour had a leadership contest that's what was all over news. If Labour were in government choosing the next prime minister there wouldn't be any tory MPs on newsnight. Its not sone kind of insidious tory bias at the BBC or evil plot, the sitting government always gets more coverage. It was the same under Blair and Brown, nobody gave a sh*t what the likes of Hague and IDS thought!

To keep banging on about it deserves a bit of derision IMHO.

*edit* To address the Corbyn point, yes they had it in for him, it's was inevitable. If you sit on the backbenches for decades slinging mud at everyone, rabble rousing and sharing platforms with dubious characters/terrorists you're going to make enemies. You have to play the game sometimes, that's just life!

Let’s just hope whichever one of the retarded billionaires they choose doesn’t do too much damage before they all get their marching orders at the next GE.

So Brexit supporting, climate change denying, low tax, small state, increased defence spending, Rwanda supporting, cutting foreign aid is now left of centre ?

Blimey, we've come a long way as a nation ???
