Well there we have it. Apparently he’s resigned. Yet, another day progresses and… he’s still here.
I think I’ve had enough of his revolting mooey for today.
Peace.

Having seen that speech, I am also starting to think this is simply more of Johnson's 'survive another day and see what turns up' that he's been churning out for the last 50 odd years.
He isn't gone yet

No idea what your argument is about The Clamp
However with regards the two films you mentioned I have seen both and like you was dragged along to see Elvis and like you came away thinking it was a brilliant film I was hooked from start to finish.
Top Gun 2 on the other hand was good in parts the action scenes in particular are very impressive but the story was at best weak being so predictable overall I thought the film was ten minutes to long a poor sequel
Everyone loves a charming confident man. Everyone loves a winner. How do you imaging Hitler came to power?
But I agree with you, not only are these not good characteristics, they are positively dangerous because a skilled practitioner can sell any lie, manipulate any audience and pursue any malign agenda.
I always say the public gets the political leaders it deserves. Will the public ever learn to be able to see through the guilt-free liar, the charming manipulator, the psychopath (because psychopaths is what these people are)? No. No they won't.
Incidentally I suspect that more han 50% of people on this board think that Boris got Brexit 'done'.
Sad, really. Humans. So weak. So gullable. So willing to believe what suits their prejudices.
Rather a barbed speech I thought. "It's the herd instinct that has done for him". They won't like that.
Well I disagree with it. He talks well here because it's all about him - his favourite subject. But when it's British business, well he's a bit f**king useless isn't he?

Totally irrelevant I know in the grand scheme of things but he has pissed off Putin more than any other world leader, which is a good thing

Has he? By giving Putin's allies the time needed to salt away their funds before imposing sanctions? By blustering on television?
Schoolboy error. You are taking on face value the impression that Johnson wants to give you.
Listening to Johnson and his leveling up guff, anyone would think he wants to roll out socialism. On a national level!

You genuinely think the rest of the Tories will allow him to stay in place for 3 months?
Well it's important as a leader to be able to engage people, get your point across to them, motivate them etc. It doesn't matter how good you are at everything else if you can't articulate that to parliament or the public.
Imagine say Theresa May trying to give the speeches that Winston Churchill had to during the war, do you think they would have had the same impact?

I'm guessing that was the deal that was done with the grandees.
Last night he was pretty adamant that he would not go voluntarily.
Someone might stand up and oust him, it would be difficult for anyone in the leadership race to do that.
Boris was deliberately vague in his speech. Because he is planning on staying.
You can guarantee he'll still be thinking that "something will turn up."
Yes, yes he has. Pretty well every Russian threatening nuke attack mentions wiping out the UK
