[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

This is a forensic examination by a prosecutor of the lie that Johnson nearly died of Covid. There are 22 tweets but the telling one is 16/22 following a FOI to St Thomas hospital.

They'll draft in the tractor boy porn watcher, get the convicted sex abuser of a 15 year old boy out of jail and allow the alleged rapist back into their ranks. The rules would just need a quick tweaking. 5 minute job.

The alleged rapist can vote by proxy because the whip hasn't been withdrawn.

The BBC's political research unit places the number of Conservative MPs pledging publicly to support Boris Johnson in the confidence vote at 131.

The prime minister needs 180 votes to get over the line - if every MP votes.

The ballot, taking place in one of Parliament's committee rooms between 18:00 and 20:00 BST, will be a secret one. And we'll know the outcome at 21:00.

"I'm truly sorry, I'm appalled and I've learned" didn't last long then did it?

It lasted as long as he hoped it would take for it to go away.

These Tories MP's don't even need to find their spine to vote him out - it's a secret ballot. Surely they should all say they'll vote in support, lie like their leader, then vote against. Would be a beautiful indictment of his legacy as a leader.

What a deplorable human being he is. Given all of his privileges and start in life, what an absolute disgrace to the human race.

He's going to win and cling on.

For Johnson he knows that it's easier for him to be slippery with the truth and fool people than it is for others to convince the public that they've been made fools of.

Nobody likes to admit the backed the wrong guy when they've had to give up what they value to do so. Pride comes before a fall, and we need to fall a lot lower before they will cart him out of No. 10.

We had the family round for the weekend and were talking about this over Sunday dinner. Even though we thought there would be an announcement today, we agreed with you in that it will need to get far worse before enough people are prepared to admit that they have been taken in completely for the last few years. Sadly that means a lot more innocents having to suffer really badly in the meantime.

It's certainly not what any sensible person wants but sadly, being realistic, I think it's what will need to happen :(

While not wanting to mention the B word, we're 6 years on from the Brexit vote and people are still so intransigent, unable to at least consider that they may have got it wrong - So I don't hold out much hope on this one!

Just in his time in office we've had:

- Lying to the Queen about proroguing Parliament

- The "oven ready" deal that he used to win an election and his Government are now trying to negotiate their way out of

- The wallpapering / redecorating scandal

- Partying on the night before Prince Philips' funeral

- The whole partygate shambles

- Lying to Parliament

- the Brexit economic disaster for exports and imports

- the lies about new police

- the lies about new hospitals

- the hiding in a fridge

- the total inability to answer a single question put to him ever, about anything

Before he was even elected he was denied official secrets because he was too close to dodgy Russians, he refused to release the report on Russian interference in elections in an unprecedented move, he's been sacked twice for lying...

What's most incredible about the whole farce is the number of Tory MPs saying he has to go because their constituents have had enough of him. Shouldn't they themselves have had enough of him a long time earlier?

They're Tories - Tories think of themselves first and very much foremost, therefore the preservation of their career is paramount. In short, we shouldn't be surprised.
