Well, this Tory voter will not be voting for the Conservative party whilst Johnson is leader.
I think he has proved himself to be totally unsuitable to be PM and the man has no shame. I would be more than delighted if he resigned or was deposed today.

What was it that made you change your mind about Johnson ?

He was unsuitable as an MP, Foreign Secretary and London Mayor.

He hasn't exactly changed.

To be honest, I always had doubts about his suitability for PM, but, as a Tory voter, the thought of Corbyn, McDonnell, and Abbott, aided and abetted by the likes of Seamus Milne and the batshit crazies from Momentum, made keeping Labour out of power a must do for me and plainly many others in the country. I harboured the wish that he would ‘grow and mature’ into the job……in vain, I am afraid.

The position the country was in, of Johnson or Corbyn for PM, wasn’t a high point in our political history.
What finally finished him off for me, was his total lack of integrity and outrageous lying over the Partygate business.
Finally, just for the record, I voted remain.

Maybe not, but see my answer to Watford Zero.
Hopefully, the country will never again be placed in a position of having to choose between the likes of either Johnson or Corbyn for PM.

Whilst I agree, I just can't see the Tories getting rid of him. If he survives a vote of no confidence, he'll treat it as a further 'mandate' to keep doing what he's doing (or worse even).

I'm writing another letter to my local MP (Maria Caulfield) who is a classic Johnson lickspittle and will be including a screengrab of the donation I've just made to the Lewes LibDems. It's a relatively small majority she holds over the LibDems, so whilst I'm not exactly their biggest fan, I'll be lending them my vote as well as helping them out financially. Every little helps!

I have never felt this politically engaged, so I suppose some good has come from having someone so monumentally awful in power.

I’ve had a voicemail this afternoon from a very young and rah sounding Freddie from the Lewes LibDems, wanting to thank me for my donation. Must be a slow day at the Lewes HQ!

There were other options on the ballot paper. I guess I've followed his career a bit more closely than most, read a couple of books and watched him pour 1 Billion Pounds of London down the drain on vanity projects.

He had to be forced to come back from holiday to deal with London riots and turned up in Clapham Junction with a broom.

He's still under investigation for his time as London Mayor, they've re-opened it.

He's no different, hasn't changed and is exactly the same man.

It's just another thing to blame Cameron for. He pushed him into London Mayor to keep him at arms length. Luckily for Johnson, Livingstone was up to his ears in scandal.

Now Johnson is PM, he clearly doesn't want history repeating himself so puts forward the worst Conservative candidate (of any election) for London Mayor.

A Conservative PM keeping a Labour Mayor in power, because he doesn't want to threatened by an alternative Conservative Leader. That's Johnson in a nutshell.

I have zero allegiance to any political party.

What I don't understand is WHY the Labour Party wants Johnson out.

The whole country knows he lied - he personally may be safe but the Tories lost the election yesterday when he failed to resign.

Look at the recent local elections - 500+ Tory Councillors voted out - not due to local politics but due to Johnson's antics.

Replace him with a grown up and the Tories might win again (Labour have a big majority to overturn) - keep him as PM as Labour will walk it.

Full list of Tories who have called for Boris Johnson to resign since 'partygate' scandal began
Following the PM's fine for breaking lockdown rules and the Sue Gray report, we chart the calls for his resignation since 'partygate' broke…

Disappointingly few. Barely gets into double figures :-(

At least 19 current Tory MPs known to have submitted letters at current count. Real number is thought to be well into the 40's, possibly already floating around the 50 mark.

I agree. Risky tactic though. People have short memories.

MPs are very tribal on both sides. The more they ask for him to go, the more hardened his support will be on the other side and that actually works in their favour at the general election.

The election leaflets are already writing themselves.

To win an election you need to vote out more than one MP.

What I don't understand is why the Conservative party want Johnson to lead the next election.

The Labour Party probably appreciate Johnson isn't going anywhere.

Yeah, the Telegraph has been cheeky / misleading in how they've tallied them up. The numbers are per "category" (based on which event caused a Tory to declare their letter was in) and as a result if you just scroll to the bottom the number you see isn't the full count. There's 3 different MPs with a "1" next to their name
