The Daily Mail today headline reads "PM allies accuse Sue Grey of playing politics ...and Toxic briefings " ...

Don't they know there's a war on ?

The arse end of Hangleton
The Tweet, and account, has subsequently disappeared but luckily someone grabbed a screenshot.

Tory candidate for Preston.

While on a slightly different level - my local Tory candidate proposed running down cyclists .... can't imagine how he's going to defend that if he knocks on my door !

What I find so bizarre is that even if you thought that, why be so stupid as to send it out there? In any form? It just illustrates not only how creepy this man is but how utterly out of touch and gormless he is.

Just baffling from the content to the delivery. Bizarre.

A Government Minister has no idea what has happened - well bugger me backwards :lolol:

What with admitting he won't send his kids to state schools, despite being the man responsible for state schools and ordering twice as many Department of Education Civil Servants back into the office as he had desks available, it hasn't been his greatest week :dunce:

The person who runs the purse strings in the UK economy being one of the richest people in the country while the country suffers the worst bouts of poverty in memory really does highlight the problems this country suffers

People laughed and rejected Jeremy Corbyn when he said he wanted a country for the many not the few. Although people would still never vote for such a polittican, they have to admit that is exactly where we are as a country, he was spot on. The UK is a country that is for the benefit of the few, the small group of super wealthy to remain that way rather than the many where everyone enjoys a good standard of living

The Billionaire chancellor is there to ensure the status quo remains the same. For him to be filthy rich requires people enduring poverty at the other end of the scale

We live in a failed democracy

Cummings says he expects Partygate pictures to emerge 'very quickly' that will show 'PM obviously lied to Commons'

Cummings claims that photographs of Boris Johnson at No 10 parties are set to emerge that will show he lied to MPs when he said he was not aware of parties taking place at Downing Street.

Cummings claims Johnson was not fined by the police for attending certain events because the police did not investigate his attendance at those events.

That is true, because the Met have said they only investigated two of the six parties, they were asked to investigate.

What's the betting it was a verbal meeting with no minutes taken?

No 10 admits that Downing Street originally instigated meeting between Sue Gray and PM

https://www.theguardian.com/politic...089d657c064723#block-628b6df68f089d657c064723

Does this pillock ever not lie?

It seems reasonable to think, based on the preliminary SG report and Johnson seemingly try to put pressure on SG, that the Sue Gray report will add a lot of flesh to the bones of what happened and provide sufficient context that the parties weren't unfortunate unavoidable technical breaches of the law, time will tell...

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has accused the UK Foreign Office of being complicit in forcing her to sign a letter of false confession to the Iranian government as part of the last-minute terms of her release in March.

The British-Iranian signed the letter at Tehran airport as she waited to find out whether she would be allowed to leave Iran after six years in detention.

Starmer going in hard today...

I always had a concern that as we got to the publication of the Sue Gray report, there will be attempts by the government to undermine her and undermine the report. That’s what we’ve seen going on over the weekend in recent days, a new low for the government.

The culture is set at the top, the can should be carried by the prime minister. He has responsibility. I doubt he will, because he doesn’t take responsibility for anything he’s done in his life. But the culture in Downing Street is set from the top, as it is with any organisation, and that culture has led to industrial-scale law-breaking.

The House of Commons is due to go on recess for another week and a half on Thursday, just over two weeks after it returned from its last break.

Sue Gray report to be published at 11pm on Wednesday then.

Following which, Johnson to spend the next 10 days on holiday in a fridge, saying people just want to celebrate the jubilee and focus on Ukraine and cost of living crisis?

A former Conservative MP has been jailed for 18 months following his conviction for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.

At a trial last month, Imran Ahmad Khan, 48, who was elected as Wakefield MP in 2019, was found guilty of groping the boy at a party in 2008.
