  1. 2 - 0 win over Liverpool in the FA cup, Sunday afternoon in Feb' 84.
  2. Liverpool replay 1991.
  3. Promotion back to Div 2 in '86 (or was it '85) - can't remember who against (bad fan) a Northern club perchance.
  4. 4 - 0 win over Man City on the way to Wembley in '83, made sweeter by being accompanied to the game by a Man City season ticket holding friend.
  5. 4 - 4 with Orient in the final days of the Goldstone, definitely atmosphere but not a particularly nice one.

January 1984 . 29th to be precise.

Rotherham 2-1, 71-2 Division 3, 27,928
Aldershot FA Cup 3-1, 3rd Round Replay 66-7, 29,208
Oxford United 0-0, 64-5 Division 4, 22,697
Tottenham H 3-1, 77-8 Division 2, 32,647

But if my memory comes back, I might include a few more. The middle two were night games. I think games were more exciting when I was younger, but there was still a buzz of excitement that is sometimes lacking now.

Number five would be a tie

Between

Albion 2 Wolves 3 League Cup
Albion 4 Orient 4 Division 3 (4th tier)

Bournemouth at home, losing at half time and came back to beat them in the second half around 10k there, good noise even from the west stand ! early 90's ?

The dull part of the south coast
That only alllows me one every 6 seasons so it's almost impossible, but these spring to mind:

Wolves LC round 3 1969. My first 30k crowd. We were winning 2-1 at half-time. Lost 3-2 though. It would be like Bournemouth v Everton today.

Bournemouth boxing day 1970 ... scary or what. "SuperMac, superstar, walks like a woman and he wears a bra ..."

Surprised no one has mentioned Fans United or Storerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Clough's first game. 16,000 on a Sunday afternoon during the power cuts and a never-endiong rendition of You'll never walk alone

Any evening game at the end of a season when pushing for promotion. Pall of cigarette smoke hanging over the ground as the sun goes down ... magic. Kenny Beamish scoring in injury time v Rotherham (?) was a great example

Better stop as I'm over the 5 already.

Yep! Rotherham, a beautiful spring evening 1972, Kenny hitting the winner (2-1) after we were 1-0 down, in front of, I believe, 28,000. Promotion on the way!

Sheffield 78/79 sticks in my mind it was one hell of an atmosphere in the North Stand. We won 2:0 and got promoted apart from that most games where great especially evening games.

A Saturday in the early/mid eighties, 4-3 down to Charlton with about five minutes to go, laying siege to the South Stand goal with 95% of the crowd going Hertz Van Rental, an almighty melee in the six yard box, with the ball not being forced in for the equaliser, and them breaking down the right wing, squaring the ball and knocking in number five to finish it
