You would have to contradict things you had said previously though?

Would you enjoy it less because Brighton were actively participating and contributing to the thing you hated/disliked? Would we not become part of what you hated?

The Premiership is a very boring league. I'm suprised you can't see that.

Out of interest Mellotron, do you agree with the statement that... 'their product is killing my product'. 'Cause obviously you have a soft spot for Villa so you're experiencing both ends of the stick with us and them.

Can you explain what you mean more specifically?

The older I get,
the more Brighton games I go to (gone to over 100 Brighton now in my lifetime, compared to only 1 Villa game),
the more idiotic plastics I encounter in the pub (recent Champions League games, people slagging me off assuming I was "Liverpool" because I wasn't cheering on Chelsea with the rest of them),
the more I play down the Villa connection and the more Albion I become.

My support for Villa is mostly meaningless and just gives Match of the Day a bit of an angle, to make it more worth watching.

I was leaving the pub with a couple of mates about 88 mins gone in last Weds' Liverpool/Chelsea match, and we got a load of abuse from Chelsea fans on the way out. I turned to him and politely explained I was Brighton, not Liverpool, as Worthing is nowhere near Merseyside.

I wish I had gotten a photo of his face. CONFUSED doesn't begin to explain it.

"So......no hang on, which TOP FOUR team do you support?"

Which pub?

It was funny when I watched that game in The Vintners when Torres scored half the pub (most actually) cheered and then looked at my group (four of us - all neutrals) smugly cos we weren't cheering. Then when Chelsea scored and we weren't cheering they were proper confused. People are idiots. I couldn't have cared less who won that game (if pushed would've said Liverpool) but at least Chelsea winning saved me from the nauseating prospect of hearing people who've never even been to Anfield chanting You'll Never Walk Alone.
