I think it was £ 600k and at the time it helped save the club

£350,000, according to the Argus (and various other sites). Could have been a lot more if he'd made a certain number of appearances, but given that he hardly played a game for them, £350k it was.

Indeed. But unlikely to make our top ten now. Probably even Michael Robinson won't get in the list if we're counting the likes of Gareth Barry & Grant Hall.

Think we got circa £2.5M for Bridcutt - struggling to think of anybody who comes between that and the mega-wedge negotiated for Leo. Prompted by GWF's post I think we got a big cheque for Gareth Barry back in the nineties - possibly on a par with Liam B's fee.

Slightly off the subject but who was the player we signed on a free transfer,maybe summer 1998 or 99 maybe later,think he got sold during pre-season having never played a game for us,think he went to Heart's for around £150,000.....?

Forgot about Hall and Barry. Problem with today's transfer in this case is that they're all undisclosed. While we all know Ulloa is our record sale and Bridcutt second despite that, I've seen figures from £350K to £750K for Barnes. Nobody except the clubs know the exact amount.

Gareth must be,in terms of eventual transfer fee's paid for him,our best ever player.
