I think the point is that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Far more people have sung about Tony Boom having a **** than the cumulative total every song you've linked to. The main reason being they're probably devised by some bobble hatter who sits on their hands in the east stand every game. It's one thing writing a poem on NSC, getting it to stick is actually very difficult.

I just sigh that every new chant seems to have been stolen/adapted from somewhere else.

It's as if folk can't make up their own. Always impressed by original stuff.

Yep. I used to think that pinching someone else's song was absolutely cringeworthy. Now, having seen all manner of shamelessness from all manner of people who ought to know better, I figure 'whatever'. But I won't join in with any of these chants recently copied from chants used by, for example, Crystal Palace. FFS.

Why can't we sing more pleasant songs like 'Sail Away' by Enya or 'Fields of gold' by Sting? This need to sing songs with swear words and insults filled in really needs some reflection from all of us singers.

Looks like this firm already tried to get this going at Palace…

It’d be nice if we could start singing some songs about our actual current players rather than a former one hardly anyone saw play for us

Assuming you're taking the piss there: let's not be dicks. These people went to the game and have as much of a right to support the Albion as you or anyone else.

At least they're not singing thinly disguised racist songs about opposing players, unlike some of our "support". I've no problem with Zaha getting stick: he's certainly earned it with his antics over the years, but when those songs cross the line into casual racism, then it's unacceptable, embarrassing and out of order.

Who's that man from Cartagena
Who's that man we all adore
Bobby Sanchez is his name
He's the number one in Spain
And he gives it to the Palace when we score

You're on fire this evening.

As Peter Cook once said, you should be on the radio with that quality of material.

Sting you say.

Stitch this:

We'll remember you when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of Falmer
We'll forget the scum in their jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold

So he took his pass
Left them on their arse
Upon the fields of Falmer
On their face they fell as we gave them hell
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me?
Will you score for me?
Upon the fields of Falmer
We'll forget the scum in their jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold

See the Pascal move like a German god
Upon the fields of Falmer
See that Pascal pass, leave them on their arse
Among the fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those Goldstone days
We’re in the fields of Falmer
See the Palace run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold

You'll remember Gross when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of Falmer
You can tell the scum in their jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

I can hear the North Stand chanting this already. Great work. punk:

I’ve attempted a few new Maupay songs.

Here’s my latest. To the tune of Rick Ashley’s never gonna give you up:

We’ve known each other for so long
He loves Brighton and so do we

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
He’ll just run around and score goals

He’s gonna make you cry
He’s our Neil Maupay
Don’t let the ball bounce or he’ll hurt you

(Probably needs work)

Huh? Glass houses? What? That makes no sense whatsoever. Do you have, like, one of those word-a-day calendars, but for sayings, and today's is the glass houses and stones one, and by god you're going to use it, even if it doesn't fit the situation.

Brighton Rocker's posted suggested people on NSC criticising the songs sung come up with songs, like they haven't already tried. I showed a selection of threads in which they tried Those songs are not tied exclusively to this website, anyone can read them and try to use them to get the crowd going. There is no way that that exchange fits into throwing stones in glass houses.

If you want to make a point that other users on NSC are free to start songs, too. Have at it. But that's still nothing to do with glass houses and stones, or the claim I was responding to that no one on NSC had tried to come up with songs.
