Any other chairman would be lording it up with the prawn sarnie brigade.
Bloom is a legend.
Not all of them , ever heard of a bloke called matthew harding?
Yes, but he had more money than bates, which i think was the real underlying problem, i dont think i'd have lost my club had he lived.Wasn't that the underlying problem for Harding (and Chelsea) though - he wasn't the Chairman?
What's the story with the Bell now....is it still supporter friendly?...rumours of it being an allocated away fan venue, rumours of mass walk outs by regulars.....anything?
TB was in there after the game on Tuesday - no one spilt a pint on him this time though.
Cool.
(You going to Leeds? )
Yes mate - are you
Yeah man. On the 9:03 rattler from King's X

Lightweight.
Conga on the way home then?
Matthew Harding wasn't a chairman (was he?), but a director and a generous one at that. Wasn't Ken Bates the main man at the time?
Did he not pay for Hassocks floodlights at the new ground ?Bates was Chairman and Matt was Vice Chairman. They hated each other come the end. I was with Matt and his mates/hangers-on a couple of times in the boozer before Chelsea games (can't remember the name of the place on the Kings Road - he'd invited me along as we had professional connections). Didn't enjoy it much to be honest - bit of a champagne socialist and surrounded by some fairly unpleasant people on match days (maybe prejudice on my part as I can't really stand Chelsea however ). Big supporter of Hassocks FC (they still have an annual match for a trophy in his name vs Cuckfield at Youth level)
