Against the grain but wasn't good against Derby, Boro or Weds. Argument to say that's linked to others but wrong time for that. Stand up and be counted.
Love the boy but wish Bobby was available to take the game by the scruff of the neck and force it

I am a deeply suspicious person. Hemed didn't look injured to me when he went off. What if the manager decided this: let's contain them, and make them plan for Monday with no Hemed? Feign a twinge and off. Admittely all the other injuries, and the result, made a bit of a mockery of the plan . . . .

Yes, I'm clutching at staws here . . . :lolol:

Thing is you'll probably remember that conversation for the rest of your life. I'll never forget seeing Johnny Byrne in the street and saying 'alright John' and he winked at me and said 'alright mate'.

Yes Johnny's a great guy, played up front with him in a game. I remember it like it was yesterday, i fired in the winning goal with about ten minutes to go.

I spoke to both him and his lovely wife at St Anne wells garden this afternoon too, he said that he didn't think he'd start on Monday but hoped to be on the bench. I wished him well, shook his hand and said we'd be there Monday to cheer them on.

Byrne had Amazing skill . One of my favourite players - him, foster and Zamora . What was he like to play upfront with ?

I'm not knocking Tomer here but ahem... This kind of modern footballer injury 'fog' grinds my God Damn gears! When I play football and get injured I know how bad it is immediately. I would know if I could make Monday... And if I needed strapping up in order to make what is the biggest game this season... Well... then I'd be on the field and giving it my ALL.
Well firstly Kosh, you're clearly a double hard bars****, and a legend. But if you were going to get on the field and give it your all, you might only be at 70%. Now that 70% would probably better than anyone else's 100%, so it'll do, but Hemed needs to be a bit better than 70% to play on Monday.

Ok I admit it, I'm stressed.
Quite rightly so.

Fantastic!! He always found space and had a great touch was also very modest, didn't act like Mr Big, in fact he congratulated me on scoring the winner.
Said something like "that was great goal"

Why not just not include Hemed at all and claim he's out injured. Also would you stick to that plan at exactly the same time Goldson gets injured?

Unfortunately I think you missed that straw you were clutching at.

Yes . . . that's what clutching at straws is all about. The buggers slip through the fingers like slippy slippery things

I can top that a tad.

John was in the Sussex in Hove with a few mates the night England were playing Croatia at Wembley in the final qualifier - the Wally with the Brolly game. Now John Byrne happens to be my ALL TIME favourite Albion player, so I was suitably starstruck when I saw him across the bar, chatting with his mates. So at half time, its my round. And having had enough beers for the dutch courage, I bought an extra pint of Guiness, minced over to John, put in in front of him and said "cheers John. You're my favourite Albion player of all time, so I just wanted to get you a pint".

He said "oh cheers mate, thanks a lot". We raised our glasses and I floated back to my crew.

The game ended in disaster, as history will record. So as me and my mates filed out of the pub, past His table, John Byrne clocks me and says "hang on mate, want a pint ?". Time stood still. A clock ticked in the background. The bar went silent. The world slowed, and lurched on its axis. "I'd love one John", I stammered. And at that, John Byrne, the man who I had seen nutmeg Julian Dicks. The man who I had drawn (with knee strapping) on my map of England showing the grounds I'd visited. The man who had sent me into convulsions of ecstacy at Anfield with his diving header for 2-2, was standing at the bar getting me a pint of Kronenbourg.

I had an hour in his company, with his friends, talking bollocks about football. My friends had all ****ed off, but I cared not a jot. One of the best nights of my life.

That's nothing. I met Junior McDougal once. Are you Junior McDougal I blurted out. He looked very embarrassed and did some standard football cliches about turning things around.

Spoke to Hemed yesterday too . He seems fine. Well he's walking normally :-/ Wouldn't say if he'd be ok for Monday though but reckons we can still win it!! UTA

From what I remember of the game (I was a bottle of wine to the good before half-time), Hemed was having a problem on the front of his thigh not the back. A hamstring strain would be at the back of the thigh so it looked more like a muscle tweak or a knock on the muscle.
