and to also the greens, liberals etc out there?
Based on your knowledge and experiences.
have you a state, country or perhaps even a large region which you believe is the nearest thing to utopia for your beliefs and the running of the area and services.
Yoooooooou know I always have a good word for the nordic nations and particularly Sweeden, I am geniunely interested in the alternative?

There is no country that is or approaches a utopian ideal, the best is atm The USA. It has a system that has produced massive amounts of wealth and jobs that has allowed most people to prosper.
You don't actually know what you are talking about, do you. You should try to listening to the news once in a while.
My English pride
I will not hide
My English race
I will not disgrace
My English blood
Flows hot & true
English people
I stand by you
Through thick & thin
Till the day I die
Our English flag
Will stand so high
Keep St George in my heart.
NO SURRENDER
The USa is the wealthiest country per capita with the highest participation rates for men AND women. Yes theres a recession, which is global, but those stats still hold.
That's the USA that has lost 100,000 jobs so far this month? And it's only the 12th. One chief economist is predicting 550,000-600,000 jobs lost per MONTH for the next few months. Which will go up substantially if any of the big 3 car manufacturers goes belly up. The same USA that is expecting 10% unemployment in 2010? The same USA that is worried it might be heading for another great depression?
If so, I'd hardly call it Utopia.
BOLLOCKS
Lets not forget its massive social problems
These countries you idolised have shifted way to the right as most of their problems remained hidden untill the system couldn't take it anymore.

This is something social Democracies have failed to do.
I am a big fan of Denmark but would hardly call it a Utopia but its close
In Sweeden case yes, but even here the Conservative national Government are increasing texes a little and have realised they were just cutting back a bit too much and lets not forget. What the Conservatives stand and commited to there there make them definately more social commited than Labour.
Norway is still Labour and Denmark, slightly more left there at the mo than Conservative, though the nation is pretty evenly spilt.
I see the changes in nordic ville, as a fine tuning of a very good system of Government and services,
in the UK we have comprehensive services but lacking that quality, I sense a 2* service not 4* or 5*.?

I used to live in Odense. It's not Utopia. I take it you haven't lived in Danmark?
My vote would go to Norway. More beautiful landscapes, better health/transport/education/more beautiful women.
I plan to move there in a few years.
No I have not lived there. Have been there on Holiday about 7 times. Would be interested to learn about your experience of the country
Have you ever actually lived in Scandinavia though?
