[Albion] To Avoid Potter Bashing - the staying up tracker - season 2019-2020 Game 38 UPDATE

No game is easy we all know this villa at home no different to Everton away. Watford at home no different to Southampton at home it really is going to be tough every single game is. But we know when we are on our game we can beat or match everyone. The problem with us if we are not at our best we don't or won't win difference between us and the likes of top 3. We don't have quality all over the park like the big boys. There are 12 teams who could go down and we are right in the middle of them. The title is done and dusted so it's only champions league places up for grabs and as season goes on likes of man city utd Chelsea spurs Leicester arsenal fighting for them and we have played most of them twice and all away apart from Leicester. We have a more winnable run in than most providing we are on our game.

Just looked as table and just been concentrating on bottom half looking at full table is just insane anyone from 8 downwards can get relegated including the mighty arsenal..... 2 wins can put us chasing a Europe place 2 more losses and bottom 3 it really is that tight impossible to call apart from Norwich who in all honestly look a bit adrift

A better late than never update. No change as we were expected to get nothing from Everton, although a further 1 point off from Europe (now 9 behind).

2 points up over the relegation tracker.

In terms of results, we have six better, five worse, and 11 as expected.

Interesting to note that two thirds of our remaining expected points are in the next 6 MASSIVE games. MASSIVE. This is our season in 6 games now. MASSIVE.

Also worth noting that from Game 11-20, a period where a lot of people said we would get more points than expected, we only got one point more than expected.

Next 6 is massive, but the tracker has us getting 2 points from the following 8 which we will do better than that I feel. 12 points from the next 6 would be fantastic bu I wouldn’t be distraught if it always around 8 or 9. Just don’t lose to those below us.

To Avoid Potter Bashing - the staying up tracker - season 2019-2020 Game 22 UPDATE

The tracker now shows us going on a 6 game unbeaten run. Does anyone really think that will happen?

And so after that abject second half performance we are back to par with the tracker. Opportunity missed. We are now bang on forecast for 40 points, which could be enough but who knows this season? Gut feel is it should be, but will we get there? No goal scoring threat, no creativity. It's a worry.

A win at Bournemouth feels like a must but the tracker will accept a draw if all other results are the same which seems unlikely.

9 from the next 9 to stay on track........after today, not so confident I have to say.

On the plus side so far this season (Excluding this weekend games).

We are in the following position for :

GD 11th
For 11th
Against 9th
Shots 9th
Shots on target 12th

So the stats suggest we are good enough to stay up, we just to get something from these next few games to give us a bit of breathing space.

Keep the faith.:albion2::albion2:

Currently bottom of 'the other 14 table'.

Not sure what this really means at this stage.

It highlights our inability to beat teams outside the top 6 :)

That, well 'established' top 6, and win at home against the other 14, or pick up points away from home, compared to the other 14 teams.

Problem is bottom of this table at the end of the season is not a good position to be in. What I'm not sure is how bad it is now.

I've been looking for some reassurances after yesterday.

Below shows results against teams played so far and their respective league position. What surprised me is that our perceived failure v bottom half teams is not quite as bad as it looks. It's turning those draws into wins that is the issue really.

The one concern is that Brighton still have 3 away games against the sides below them - and Watford at home who Pearson seems to have sorted at the moment. On top of that there are away games against Burnley and Southampton. The Bournemouth game is a big one.

Effectively the remaining games are at home against mostly top half teams and away against bottom half teams. Potter needs to put some results together sooner rather than later.
