Potter needs to avoid the England job for the sake of his mental health, he would get ripped to shreds.

Unless England win a tournament the new manager will be on a hiding to nothing.
It won't take The Sun and TalkSport long to forget how uninspiring and defensive Southgate's football was. There will soon be a clamour for his return.

Potter doesn't have the personality to engage with the ex-pro media influencers to survive that, his life would be hell whenever England failed to win.
He would need to multiply his Chelsea pressure by at least ten fold to understand how unhappy he will be.

He needs to take a job at an underachieving large club with a decent academy.

This was bad enough but Stones then passed off to Pickford who ignored Shaw, who was open enough on the left have been able to keep some sort of attack going, ans instead did his Peter Kay ‘Av it!!’ resulting in a Spanish goal kick.

I disagree. If England played well but were beaten in a final I do not think many would complain. It's more the limp and lucky way England perform at the moment which is the issue. Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows Southgate lucked his way to finals. If England were genuine contenders I do not think many would moan.

100% agree. Many German contacts say supporters had no complaints about the Germans performances. Had a tough draw but always felt were giving it a go.
Many of these young English players will be available for next tournament. They all play for clubs that play on front foot and am sure they and supporters just want the approach at National level to be the same

I would not be suprised if there's a job for him elsewhere in the FA. He has some value, just not selecting players and chosing tactics.

As I said yesterday, in ten years players have moved away from 'club first' mentality when at England camp. Southgate has been pushing against an open door in that respect.
