I think Southgates instructions are to not take unneeded risks.

I'm not sure that the instruction would've been to belt it so hard that even the Spanish keeper would've struggled to stop it going dead. I really don’t agree with this. How is one team ruining football?

As for Grealish, I’ve always felt he’s a one trick pony/ flat track bully. Easy to turn on the style against Championship and most EPL teams ….but seemingly cannot do it regularly at the truly elite level. He’s moved to a level which is slightly too high for him.

Whilst I am strongly against Man City's funding sources and apparent strategy of buying the best players off other PL teams to sit on their bench, it cannot be denied that they play beautiful football.

What's wrong with striving to make chances and xG anyway? Couple a good xG with a half-decent striker and it's happy days.

We said exactly the same. We’d scored, the noise from the English crowd was much louder, we were pinging it around and looked full of energy…………the momentum had evidently shifted. Within minutes it was gone though, a tale of two teams/tactics. The Spanish wrestled back control pretty quickly because we played right into their hands.
