Not sure if it's been mentioned already but the natives are gonna expect you to tip them 20 -25% in restaurants and bars. It's about time they stopped asking customers to pay the staff's wages and include it in the price.

Right. I am back. Flew in yesterday pre match and fell asleep on the park and ride.

Thanks for all the tips.

Went to two Knicks games and three Rangers and have to say, anyone thinking of going over would be well advised to see the hockey over the basketball as the Knicks are TERRIBLE at the moment.

Went up the Rock and the Empire State Buildining - both were excellent but, as said on here, if you have limited time go for the Rockefeller as the ESB will be in your pics.

Bryant Park is an ace place to relax, Bonx Zoo is excellent and well worth a visit. Go on Wednesday and you can chose how much you pay to get in.

Tried Stand Up New York. My other half loved it, but a lot of the jokes were fairly mainstream (about parents being on Facebook etc) and it seems, rather disconsertingly, that making funny Indian accents counts for a joke in NY. Also, there was a two drink minimum which together with 18 per cent service and $10 for a beer can leave you with a hefty bar bill.

Stayed at Flatotel on 52nd which was a brilliant place to be based.

And thanks for the Tckts booth advice. Got West Side Story seats half price.

Oh and left my REMF shirt in Foley's bar - so thanks for the tip for that one. Lovely place and lovely owner. Check it out anyone who is ever in New York.

Great to hear you went in there WJ. I'm having my 50th birthday party in there in April. If anyone's in NYC on Saturday April 9th, you're invited.

Eat at Keens Chophouse, just about the best restaurant in NYC in my view, at least of the ones I can afford, book ahead though, also the Oyster bar in Grand Central,.... and do the UN building tour, amazing experience
