[Football] Tindall sacked at plucky

Seems harsh - no patience with a new manager? But something strange seems to be happening there - Josh King and Gosling buggering off (I know they were running down their contracts). Suddenly the wheels have come off. Maybe Tindall was completely out of his depth? (three half time substitutions in both the last two games!).

Strange, isn't it? I know there were worries about the finances after relegation but I assumed that selling Ake, Wilson and the keeper had sorted that and they still had enough decent players to have a go. Appointing Tindall looked like a cheap option but it seemed to be going surprisingly well until recently. Maybe the ones who didn't get moves away are sulking, but there are worse places to be than south Dorset.

I wonder if Tindall saw this coming?

He loses his right-hand man in Graeme Jones who understandably goes to Newcastle, then Woodgate comes in - a former manager of Middlesbrough who you'd assume still has managerial aspirations.

He loses Josh King but signs Wilshere on a permanent contract.

My first reaction was how this seems to be a good fit for Frank Lampard, but has the job come too soon for him?

The bottom line is with that squad Bournemouth should be matching Norwich at the top of the division, but you fear for them if they don't bounce back to the Prem straight away.

Howe is the only one out of the top four they should consider (if it is an option)

I am a bit surprised - King went to Everton and Gosling to Watford - but they brought in Pearson from Preston, Wiltshire and Shane Long (who Brighton should have signed). In my view they strengthened the squad over the past month. Yes - they have lost the last 4 games - but they dominated possession in each of those games (including playing most of the game against Luton with 10 men) - they gave up 2/3 goals as a result of trying to play out from the back and getting caught and they lost to Sheff W last night when Wed scored on the break in the last minute when Bournemouth had the Wed goal under siege (and Wed should have had a player sent off when he fouled Sturridge when he was clean through on goal and would have scored). Apart from the first 10 minutes, Bournemouth were pretty much camped in Wed's half and should have won comfortably - getting suckered by a terrible mistake in defence and being caught on the break - and even then had two good chances to equalise.

I think this was harsh on Tindell.

We Should have signed Sure Shot Shane ??
Are you sure ? ?

Shane Long is absolute shite. Jamie Moralee had a better strike rate.

I know it isn't a popular viewpoint on NSC but I always liked Eddie Howe. Never quite got the 'smugeddie' thing. Always comes across well, to me. Extraordinary record. Oh well.

Reading battered Bmuff in that 1st half. game over at half time. not good enough.

So Plucky are apparently looking at appointing Thierry Henry as manager. That'd be the chap who managed 4 wins in 20 at Monaco, and has overseen 16 losses out of 29 at CF Montreal. I've seen better CV's, to be fair.

Boardroom getting a little starstruck, by the looks.

Yep looks that way. Likely to end, quite quickly, in tears I would think. Let's hope so anyway :)

Careful men, our manager (who some on here claim is the best English manager in the game at the moment), has a mighty 14 wins in 62 league games (22.58%). We mustn't pretend that's very good or would justify gaining alternative employment.

Henry's a cool guy, but I'm yet to be convinced he's got the potential to be a top manager. I would have no concerns about seeing him become Bournemouth manager.

GP does at least have a modicum of managerial success on his CV, with a track record of developing a clear playing philosophy with his teams and an emphasis on bringing through youth. It takes time with "a team like Brighton" in the PL to implement that and start getting the win % going, but we are really seeing the green shoots now.

Thierry Henry is probably the best player I have ever seen in the PL, but since retiring, he has done absolutely zilch to suggest he is a decent coach. Henry + Plucky looks like a TERRIBLE fit to me, so naturally I sincerely hope it happens. It'd be fun to watch.

Laughable comparison. Monaco are a monied club in the French league, so 4 wins in 20 is absolutely TERRIBLE. 16 losses in 29 at Montreal is also absolutely woeful, especially in MLS where there is a broad parity amongst clubs compared to pretty much any other league. That's basically on a par with what Birmingham are doing in the Championship.

As for Potter, he hasn't won many but he hasn't lost many either - and that's in a division that we can't possibly hope to compete with the big 6 clubs...

Yes to many have taken Peps quote as gospel, easy to say when he see us as six points per season.

Madness going for Henry.
Frank Lampard would be a great appointment for them.

That's an interesting comparison, as bringing in Henry reminds of Birmingham sacking Rowett to bring in Zola, as it seemed more important to have a 'name' as manager. That decision caused them to fall from the play-off zone to just above relegation. I wonder if history will repeat itself

At the moment everyone in the league looks like six points a season to Guardiola. Our 1-0 defeat to them is probably the closest anyone has got to getting something from them in 2021, and we hardly laid a glove on them.
