I'm a gentle giant really, but having a pint thrown over me is a tipping point
Quite literally.

The spoons on the marina is decent.
The ones in Hove and on North St are desperate
Call me a pisshead, scumbag and a pisshead if you like,
Nb. I have seen a lot of snobbery about low price firms on here. E.g. Wetherspoons, Sports Direct or Macdonalds.... get a life !
Call me a pisshead, scumbag and a pisshead if you like, but when it is safe again I will want to be back to my local ‘spoons. Admittedly I don’t go at late nights and no doubt they vary in clientele. However I love a ‘spoons breakfast which is excellent value . My local is/ was a good place for a quiet afternoon visit and a drink .
Tim Martin is a strong character, which is why the media love him. Who cares ? The beer is alright.

It's not snobbery though, his treatment of staff at the start of the pandemic was awful. At a moment when people were worried about many things, not least of all financial security, he washed his hands and said go and stack shelves in a supermarket. He could have said to his staff 'I've got your back' but he didn't, because that requires real leadership and not prioritising the bottom line.
Local breweries report that he is a nightmare to deal with, and they make no money on their beer in his pub, and effectively use it as a type of advertising.
There's other issues as well, but it is lazy to suggest that it's only snobbery that people don't like Wetherspoons.
I'll also admit to taking a dim view of a place where three separate people want to start a fight with me in the space of 20 minutes.
I would never be so rude (well, I might be, but not to someone who's only shortcoming is drinking in 'spoons)
I don't eat meat, haven't for 30+ years, but if I did I'd draw the line at minced up eyelids and aresholes served up in a roll made mostly of preservatives.
F**k me, there are some beer snobs on here.
Not everyone can afford £6.50/£7.00 for a pint of some stupidly named microbrewery craft ipa.
You can dislike Martin for whatever reason you like, but some on here are knocking the concept of buy in bulk and sell it cheap. I guess you all shop at Waitrose and have never been in an Aldi/Lidl.

I don't drink in Wetherspoons, partly because Martin is an unsufferable arse but mostly because his pubs are full of pissheads, scumbags and cheapskates.
I'd rather go out once a week to a "proper" local than to a converted abbatoir
What an evil man that Tim is eh? Pricing beer n food like they should be priced, while all the while providing public toilets for all and a nice place to sit down and have a nice cup of tea for those on coach parties. What's not to like?
Johnson is a remainer, always has been, he just waited to see which way the crowd was running, stabbed May in the back, sacked the cabinet and filled it with nodding, useless and incompetant dogs.
But he did not bet on Covid and he can't deal with bad news or decision making so we have ended up with the biggest idiot in history in charge during a health crisis whose dithering has cost thousands of unnecessary deaths.
But we was warned, but all the mugs fell for it.
