Hoping for Tier 1 in Adur

Given there are some decent sized towns within Adur, I'd say that's pretty impressive.

Brighton, the lowest significant city (sorry Colchester). Arun low as well

We're doing ok down here. Any semi competent government would surely have to consider us for tier 1?

Deepest, darkest Sussex
So lockdown ends next weekend, to be replaced by lockdown 3 which is called Tier 2, so Johnson can say he has ended the national lockdown.

I don't think you can really call Tier 2 "lockdown" given the restrictions really aren't very high.

It's all a load of bollocks anyway, we're in a lockdown now apparently, roads are busier than ever, most people don't give a shit, the only noticable difference to anything is the pubs are shut.

Went into lockdown tier one, coming out in an even harsher tier 2 :lolol:

You couldn’t make it up could you? Utterly unbelievable.

Hoping for Tier 1 in Adur

Problem is there are neighbouring parts of Sussex much higher and rising. I doubt they will put just parts of Sussex into Tier 1. All or nothing?

I doubt very much it'll be broken down like this. It'll be counties as before.

Not sure it was as simple as counties last time, for example I don't think all of Leicestershire was in lockdown before, it was the city centre and some places near the centre. Other parts of Leicestershire were not hit by the same restrictions. Obviously things can change and I guess it would be easier and quicker for the government to group these smaller local authority areas together.

This was the local list broken down a couple of days ago

Blimey that's rather an obvious north/south divide.

Maybe there's something to be said for ignoring your neighbours and wearing a coat, after all.

Leicester is a Unitary Authority, ergo a county - it was done by county.

I think it might be more nuanced and flexible over time than this.

Thanet and Swale districts have 5x the CV19 rate of infections than areas of Kent and Sussex such as Brighton and Worthing.

The scientists and government won’t set in stone any areas restrictions for 5 months ahead.

The only areas of Kent that don't feature in the Top 100 worst performing LA's are Tunbridge Wells and Ashford.

Unfortunately I think it will be a blanket Tier 3 for Kent until December 16th... The cases in Swale are actually going down, but then so is most everywhere else, so we still sit top of the tree, like a shiny Christmas star!
