Ticket priority for big games.

I'm getting a bit fed up with people saying away members put no money into the club.

I don't have a season ticket this season (the 1st time I haven't had one at Withdean) but I still put money into the club. Non-STH's spend money in the club shop and go to home games too.

The thing that rightly annoys everyone is away members who don't attend matches. So a distinction needs to be made between away members who do or do not go to games.

The club have even made this sort of distinction by giving those who went to Millwall priority. They could have gone further and given priority to those buying Bristol City away JPT tickets at the same time.

I think a possible route to take is a credit system. Season Ticket holders pay for 23 tickets. So they start on 23. Away members on 0. For every additional game you go to you get 1 credit.

This way, people like me, who have been to 15 of 18 home games and say, 8 away games have 23 credits. With a 23 point head start I don't see how STH's could really complain. And of course STH's who go away from home as well are laughing.

Priority should go to people who go to games and support the club.

Now I know one problem is that you may not always get a stub at away games. One possible solution is that if you pay £5 at the club shop for an away game 'voucher' (if its not all ticket) you get £5 off the pay on the gate price when you hand over your voucher.

Some people like to leave it to the last minute to decide whether or not to go. Well usually you'll get a ticket stub, if not, maybe proof of travel could be sent to the club (train ticket etc). If that doesn't work out, tough, you left it too late to get your attendance on record (1 match probably wont make a huge difference anyway).

Incidently I'd have 22 of 32 possible credits currently. So I'd be behind a STH in priority but probably still stand a good chance of getting a ticket. If I misssed out at least I'd know someone who has been to more games than me is going, rather than someone who goes once every five years.

Thoughts?

Where do the long term season ticket holders come in the pecking order?
Some have paid up to ten years in advance and was told today at the ground that one of them has not got a West Ham ticket?

Id be quite happy to do that, only thing is fa cup games are in january so away fans would only have half as many credits as what sth's would have.

wots wrong with a points system every season ala EnglandFans?

Lets say, 1 point for a home game, 2 points for an away game and Season ticket holders get 2 point head start.

Then if a game is over subscribed [ala FA cup away or woteva] 60% of tickets go to the top same number who have the most points and the other 40% of tickets go into a ballot for all others that applied?

then any unclaimed tickets from those who had them allocated go on general sale.

But to be fair its only once a season if that, that we get a problem like this so is it really worth putting a system in place?

I think the above is agood starting point....the main problem is Martin Perry.....he has become remarkably adept over the years at trotting out excuses why we can,t have anything. I,d rather a CEO who actually got things done, instead listing all the problems in front of him.

If we get a big home draw then STH should get priority option on their seat.

If it's a big away game then 50-50 is fair.

Well STH's who go away as well would deserve the priority for 1, stumping money up front, and 2, attending away games.

AMS who go to home and away games could have 32 credits by now.

Thats more than a STH who doesn't go to away games.

It's obvious.

Proirity for big away games should be,

Beach Hut 1st together with anyone who spits their dummy out and stamps their feet the hardest.

After that 50% for STH and 50% AMS.

Simple really

A sth who has been to every game this season against a non-sth will still have a 10 credit head start at the moment over him in getting priority, i'm all for people who go to the most games should get first dips on tickets but if your policey was changed to that the sth would get 1 credit once the home game has been played (if they have gone or not) seems more fairer for those that can't afford a st in one lump sum

I can't afford a lump sum but wouldnt mind a STH having a 10 credit advantage because even with my 22 credits I should still be in with a good chance of getting a ticket. See your point though and its deffo a vaid one.

I'm pleased about that.

I suppose 3578 posts on the subject is enough though eh?
