As a resident of Horfield, Bristol, happy to help answer any queries about the vicinity and where to go and what to do! I am sure the other Seagull locals will help too!

Please post questions and suggestions, and when asking for a pub, please give me a Brighton point of reference, helps place you in the right atmosphere!

Those with I-Phones or even Mobile Phones, would recommend looking at Vouchercloud as Bristol is their home and you will get deals on everything and anything you spend your moeny on!

Though I will be missing due to the rather more important task of spending my allotted weekend with my daughter at a birthday party...the event is close enough to hear your roars! Which having gone through the exact same last time we played...is a nerve wracking experience.

I won't be monitoring all day but will respond to all queries!

Billy

Take her to the football....BAD fan....

Alas only spend weekends with her she's 4 years old, and whilst she does say 'Come on Brighton' on cue much to ex-in-laws annoyance, have to give this a miss, (have been unemployed for a bit so no money!)

B.I.B I'm catching the train to Temple Meads, is the ground walkable (with my 6 year old son) from there or is it a taxi/bus job?

Deffo not. Temple Meads is on the complete opposite side of the city. Get the train to Bristol Parkway and there's a bus from the station there that runs every 20 mins or so I think towards the ground.

Thanks lads.

I think I'll get off at Parkway and bus it then.

Edit: Looks like my train stops at Filton Abbey Wood station (I'm on the Newport to Temple Meads train) which looks closest to the mem, so I think we'll hop off there.

Is the Golden Lion pub still going? Rough old place that was, but had some great student drinking sessions there. Bristol Flyer was another old haunt.

Filton Abbey Wood is only 15/20 min walk away.
