Edit: Looks like my train stops at Filton Abbey Wood station (I'm on the Newport to Temple Meads train) which looks closest to the mem, so I think we'll hop off there.

Its a bit long than 15-20 minutes, I would say 30mins

When you get off at the station, you have two fairly long walking options to buses:

1) On your Platform 1 turn right into the MOD place and head for AbbeyWood Retail park, head towards the MAcDonalds and you'll see on the ring road a bus top your side of the road, 73 and 70 best bets.

2) Go over the footbridge to far side of station walk down to the car park, cut through a hedged walkway on your left through to a quiet road, just head straight on to the busy road, turn left and the bus stop is about 5 minutes left.

Do not use the bus stop outside the station as it goes nowehere useful.

Yes it is a f*** up but welcome to Bristol's transportation plans!

Thanks BIB, I knew I should have driven but the boy wanted to go by train.......!

dogshite pub, horrible chavvy and rough.

head to the Sportsman on Neville Road, 5-10 minute walk to the ground and about 20 pool tables to entertain you.

Ha,... well it is subjective, I would have thought 20 pool tables would have made it a no brainer,.... Anchor is a better pub by miles,... not chavvy, by Bristol standards for Saturday lunchtime drinking and eating,..... may be at 10pm on Saturday night, but then so are all the pubs in town.

Hi Guys

Just a few more recommendations...

North of the Ground:

INN ON THE GREEN: Camra Pub
Gloucester Road:
10 mins from the ground!

South of The Ground
THE ROYAL OAK
Gloucester Road
a real family pub run by a mate, so behave! Defo one for the more discerning and be good to not be going in a group of Albion shirts.
5 mins from ground

ANCHOR
A chain pub, nothing special, but not as bad as stated elsewhere here, one for the kids.
10 mins

THE ROBIN HOOD
Camra pub, great food, if expensive
15 mins

THE FLYER
Opposite but my favourite, next to an Its A Scream which is great for those on a budget!
15 mins

Enjoy!

I am not liable for any disappointment this recommendations may cause, there is no way I can have the same tastes as 1,000+ of you, well except one, a pretty good taste in football teams!

Loads of great restaurants..if you win enjoy yourself, but used your VOUCHERCLOUD App and save money!
