* Italy & Argentina *always* appear in groups with 3 tier 1 nations, but strangely seem to get clobbered with the scheduling. This time round, the Argies had to play Georgia just a few days after the France match - the result of which was they were still too tired and perhaps this is what robbed them of a CRUCIAL bonus point.

That is a joke, I couldnt believe they had to play a few days after the first game where as France have untill Sunday to rest.

I think the problem is after the 99 rwc people complained it took too long to complete the world cup, Rugby is unlike any other sport played on the world stage in terms of time needed to recover and each of the teams should be given the same recovery times.

I f***ing HATE CORPORATE HOSPITALITY BULLSHIT - its ruining sport for the common man!

Nah....how do you think I managed to get a ticket.

I don't mind rugby fans getting hospitality tickets. what pisses me off are people who don't have the slightest interest in the game grabbing hold of them. I once was in a hospitality box at an Oval test match and of our party of 24 or 25, I was the only one who went back to watch the match after lunch - I sat in a row of seats on my own like Billy Nomates. :D

I don't understand why people do it. I once had an invite to the Monaco Grand Prix in a box by the finishing line but, as I have no interest in motor racing, I turned it down. I had to listen to people saying that I was mad for weeks after but why should I lig and stop a real fan from going?

No, just means someone at his CLUB is better....bit like in football where you may not be the penalty taker for you club but are for your country..(Beckham when at Man U & Real M)

But rugby tends to have specialist goal kickers. If a player kicks for his country, there's a very high chance that he is first choice kicker for his club. There's also a fairly strong correlation between people playing fly half at club level and playing there at international level. Farrell has done NEITHER for Saracens (barring one 2nd XV game, I understand) yet is now assuming both roles for his country in the World Cup.

I'm in total agreement, but look at the options... a flyhalf (catt) playing at centre....A non position player (farrell) playing at centre/flyhalf/no8/flanker

Catt is NOT an international Standard kicker, although can hold his own (as long as he doesn't miss the first one or he'll bottle the rest) or a Proven league kicker ( granted, different ball & hasn't kicked in 2 years) who's never kicked in union

Either way, you've got to blame MARK McGEE:)

Hasn't it been changed to Catt at flyhalf and Farrell at centre now?

The big question that needs to be asked here is why was a replacement not called into the squad when Injury Prone Wilkinson did himself in.

Is he going to be back soon?

No idea, last on him I heard was that he was hoping to be back for the South Africa match but obviously he isn't. There's more than a week until the Samoa game so possibly then? If, of course, he does play against Samoa he'll get clobbered by some brute after 10 minutes and spend another six months recovering from it.
