town full of eejits
Back in 1955 Eartha Kitt had a hit song called 'The Day That The Circus Left Town', my parents bought this when I was about 3 and It used to make me cry with fear every time it was played. Cue much amusement for my older brothers playing it every day just to see me cry, the ar**holes! I looked it up on YouTube a couple of years ago and it still gives me the creeps nearly 60 years later (I manage not to cry now), gives me visions of killer clowns!

fair play mate .....the daleks used to frekk with my head but i'm well over them now, not really scared of anything now unless it's human.

Cows, they hang around in groups waiting till you're not looking then they plan to attack.
and as others have said edge of cliff, not likely but what's worse is others standing near to the edge so I think if that silly b falls over I'll have to rescue them so I am forced to walk away from the view!

Fish.

Love them for cooking

Terrified of the buggers when alive. Genuinely freak me out. The ******** don't blink. They could be dead.....and then they move.

As a young child I had a fear of paddling in the sea in case a crab might pinch my toes.

That has reminded me - shudder - of my irrational fear, of, ROTTINGDEAN! As a young child I cut my feet, maybe more than once, maybe not, on the sharp rocks that proliferate at that particular spot. I developed a phobia that would reduce me to tears & that lasted for DECADES! I think that's why I moved to Wales...

Those coloured lines and the continuous beep on the telly; always has, always will.

Adding to this...

The little girl with the scary clown test card....

That makes me shit my pants to this day!

Edit: HWT? I have no need for Hollow Weld Technology or a Heavy Weight Torpedo. But thanks for offering:thumbsup:

UV light in the 60s and 70s was considered a cure for acne; if you haven't worked out what being HWT'd is all about, you having been paying attention. For several years, it would seem. So, your point (if any) is ..........?

Yes can relate to that. Not helped when I was a child and my big brother convinced me that crabs screamed when boiled. I now know it was just air escaping. The fear of the ugly buggers also not helped by the Guy N Smith pulp horror fiction books about giant man eating crabs

I hate needles, and I really not sure why. I am a scientist by trade and nature, and I can find no logic in my fear. This last 18 months has been grim with the lead up to my COVID vaccinations. I have them both, but the weeks leading up to them were very stressful, I knew I needed them so made a conscious decision to tell people when I got my appointment. That made the decision to run away a bit harder. Then on the day, sat in the car park, and went in 20mins late after fretting and panic.
Got to my cubicle after about 10mins of trying to rationalise my fears. My adrenaline was rushing, and I wanted to run. I explained to the nurse my fear of needles, and that I was having second thoughts, but he was very good. He differentiated between needles and the vaccine.
Cut story short, I did it. I have now had my second, and have put my name down for company flue jab in October.
Sort of proud of myself in a very small way. Still thinking about next months flu jab, but not occupying my thoughts….progress
