Yes cos there's nothing wrong with dead children..

Quote from the Cheif Super of sussex "speed dose not kill but innapropriate speed does"

Even the article says it's about the money. As for being more visible the one at Buck Barn is grey and hidden no sign on the back

Ive seen the one on the A24,it seems to face the wrong way and by the looks of the road markings it snares you both ways.

Count yourself lucky. Over here they hide them in rubbish bins and the like, dont give you 10% leeway and the funds go into the State coffers - they actually BUDGET for year on year increases in "Greed Camera" revenue...

It's so simple....just don't go over the legal speed limit. There's no further arguement really....we can argue all day about the rights and wrongs and whether you like the speed limits or not but until they change the law or up the limits, then this is what you're legally stuck with.

Go over the limit, expect to pay into the governments coffers, stay within the limit and you won't pay a penny extra

Those signs that flash up with the speed limit seem to have the same effect as the cameras as people always seem to brake after them without the need for all of these fines and points.

If you do regular trips for work its a nightmare driving you an't relax as you have this camera here a variable one there

Don't speed and you don't have to be worried. You'll also save yourself some money and petrol, which would be pretty handy at the moment, no?

Quite. Speeding does not much effect the length of the journey. Travelling at 80 mph for an hour instead of 70mph will only knock 8 minutes off your journey. Is it really worth it?

When i drive up to Scotland i wanna be doing 90-100 on the motorway. It's perfectly safe to do so and with 500 miles to cover it makes a lot of difference than doing 70

How is doing 90-100 mph 'perfectly safe'? If you are worried about time spent travelling then there are quicker ways to travel - train/plane etc.

Of course it is perfectly safe or the police wouldn't drive that fast. Plane/train way too expensive for all 3 of us to go up.

Autobahns are what we need here and do you even know why there are limits on motorways because there never used to be

If people don't want to get done for speeding, don't exceed the speed limit !

It's quite simple, although I appreciate there a lot of bloody selfish idiots on our roads who don't give a f*** about anyone else once the turn their ignition key.

All part of our "I wanna do anything I want and bollox to everyone else" society.

Police are highly trained to drive at those speeds and it is a necessity of the job. A civilian does NOT need to travel that fast. Obviously price is going to be an issue, but trains can be a cheap option if booked in advance with railcards etc.

Possibly because there are far more cars than there used to be and road safety awareness is at a higher level than before.

But they are rather distracting, not something you want when you are trying to concentrate on the road ahead.

Of course it is perfectly safe or the police wouldn't drive that fast.

But Police drive that fast due to chasing speeding drivers or attending emergencies, with blues and twos warning other drivers of their approach.

Given the choice the plane is the way to go, we were thinking about going to Scotland in the summer but changed our mind, flights were about £250 for three adults and hiring a car was under £100 for a week. Yes it may be slightly cheaper to drive but with all the hassle that goes with it no thank you.
