It’s a shame that posters can hijack a popular thread and basically spend the whole time just shouting the same tedious message and the fact that they think it’s OK to use such an offensive term as ‘licker’ is unacceptable in the same way that racist and homophobic comments are.

Getting back to football, I am slightly nervous, we want to give Potter the best possible platform for success and there are obvious gaps that need filling. One serious injury early on and we could find ourselves disadvantaged. Our defense is strong but a right back is a necessity, we lack a real box to box midfielder and our attack is overly reliant on GM. Hopefully, last season’s recruits will come good but that still needs to be seen and if they don’t step up we will be vulnerable.

The only name repeated by Brian Owen is Neal Maupay so that maybe the signing we are prepared to over pay for in today’s inflated market, we could also look at loaning a couple of players from top clubs that probably wouldn’t happen until the last week of the window.

Another poster who fails to understand the bed-wetter / licker NSC context. How dare you classify me with racists and homophobes. Completely out of order.

I’ve apologised. You owe me one.

Just seen that Wolves have signed a Real Madrid centre back on a season long loan. Got me thInking, as we won’t pay the going rate for quality players, why don’t we get some in on loan from teams with good young players who can’t break into the first team just yet?

Got to be a consideration given our reluctance to buy at the market rate for up and coming quality players.

What you mean like loaning some of our U23 squad to our first team.

Cunning plan.

A realist is more accurate

Just because you believe your opinion doesn’t make it realistic. You have use of insults and hyperbole in your posts on here alone make your sense of realism suspect, not dissimilar to the sitting president of the United States.

Your posts are pessimistic, you vocalise one of the worst outcomes for the club in what is a wide range of options. Realism is more considered and objective.

Without wanting to get sucked into this, I always thought the term 'licker' came from the term 'window licker' describing someone with learning disabilities who travels on designated buses and was stereotyped as licking the inside of the bus window.
If this is how seagull_special also interprets the term I think he has every right as pointing out that it's an unacceptable comment.

Doesn’t a “super” agent have an interest in the ownership of Wolves?

You are absolutely right Change at Barnham, BW2 your apology came after my post and I readily accept that your choice of language was taken out of context and happy to apologize.

it seems that some people think licker refers to w*ndowlicker not a*selicker?

i think it's a pretty juvenile term butnever would have made that connection tbh

Look, I didn’t start this. I was ‘hilariously’ accused of bed wetting. I retorted with Licker as per NSC tradition. It is not meant as anything other than ‘licking the club’s ar$e’ BTW. Sorry if you think it was meant in some other way. Apologies to anyone else who misinterpreted my posts.

I'm equally critical of people calling other people bed-wetters. Yes, there was a spate of using these terms on NSC a while back, but NSC as a whole has thankfully largely grown out of it. Maybe it was 'traditional', but it isn't any more. Both abusive terms are obnoxious, but if anything 'licker' is the more so, because of its other meaning. It's a word that belongs alongside spastic and cripple. We don't call people those things any more either.

Anyway, apology accepted.
