How the hell have we gone from mid April to now and failed to sign a striker?
Have you just dropped Shane off in Lancing?
I feel a bit silly, at the moment, for not mentioning that sooner. If only it were possible to put in some bids for strikers before today. Lives and learns.
Very good Harry!
I am finding it very hard to believe the only target the recruitment team identified who they deemed good enough, willing to join and with a club willing to sell was Dwamena. Unfortunately the way the last few days have panned out make this seem believable[emoji43]
I have mentioned a couple of times that Tony Cascarino identified in Times a few weeks ago that our salary cap of £40k was going to be a problem, At the time I wondered how he knew and whether he was right. We shall never know the former, but our inability to sign that most epxensive resource, coupled with CH admitting a couple of days ago that salaries were proving a problem, stongly suggests he was correct about the cap, at least until realisation dawned too late.
The shame is that we shall need to spend big on two strikers for the Championship next season when we could have done this season and given ourselves a chance.
Salary cap lost us Glenn Murray to Palace. Salary cap know means we are unable to sign a Premier League striker..... do the club ever learn ?
136 days to get transfers done and with 20 minutes to go we haven't got the major one we needed
But, on the plus side, we still have a club and haven't plummeted down the leagues a la Pompey's experiment with no cap.
