Well we may have signed some potentially good players but if we end up with hemed and 2 currently injured forwards as our only options tonight the window can only be classed as a failure

Take the talk with Deportivo over Andone for example - we've allegedly already bid £17m but they want more. Do you really think TB/PB will risk putting anything out there that might give Deportivo a reason to think they can get away with upping their asking price by another million or five? Of course they're not.

No, Deportivo probably aren't listening to Talksport - but TB/PB realise that anything they say on Talksport might well get picked up by Sky etc. If they said "we need a striker and realise we'll just have to pay whatever it takes" and that made it onto Sky Sports News, then yes I reckon Deportivo would hear it.

According to the Mail just now, Depor want £20m. Still sounds like it might be dependent on Perez agreeing to go there from Arsenal AND the ownership situation is complicated by a 70%-30% split. Going to be a tough one. I'm hoping the hints about 1 striker are because we're pushing the boat out to get in someone very good but over-priced, rather than a couple that are average and over-priced.

I get that but we don't have strikers anywhere near as good as that ?

So who would you sign that's proven, less than £20m and not way beyond our wage structure? If we go for players better than what we've got but not good enough to get 10 PL goals plus, we might as well just burn the money.

I'm not stressing about the Naylor tweet. He explicitly stated that we weren't in for Schelotto and we've just signed him. #itk

Also, if we sign one striker and get another on loan, he can still say he was right.

Let's be fair, whatever happens by 11pm tonight Naylor will say he was right. We could SING Messi and he'd twist an old tweet to be ITK.

Despite previous signings and existing players, are Burnley and Palace really going to sign more strikers than us today?

Looking more and more like we won't be signing a striker and if it is left late one of poor quality. If this happens I don't fancy our chances of getting enough points to stay up. At present we have not one striker of premiership quality that will get the goals to avoid relegation. Hoping that something happens, but all other clubs appear to five or six strikers on their books. We appear to be concentrating on more defenders at least if we go down we may do it by the least goals ever conceded. Keeping my Brighton mojo upbeat but with a few hours to go I'm expecting the old "Brighton are not expected to make any more signings" at 7.30.
