The young lady who has accused Titus Bramble.

Defendants actually turn up to court ALL the time in t-shirts, track suits and jeans, go and stand around in Edward Street any day of the week and you'll see it.

My point being: I don't see any threads about them.

Start one then. If a person is unsure about what to wear or how to appear in court they should seek advice. One hopes that their lawyer would advise them.

If he is on your ignore list, how have you been able to see his posts on this thread ?

1) People quoting him.
2) You can unblock individual posts, which I did to see what he was posting to work out if I still wanted to ignore him. I do.

People are getting confused. The girl in the short skirt, and heels, was part of Brambles legal team, NOT the girl involved in the claimed attack.

I realise that now after taking time to read the case. I still don't think that a young lady should turn up in a Court of Law dressed like that whether she is the Plaintiff, the Accused or any ones Lawyer/Brief . This might upset people as well, Harrods refuses entry to those wearing jeans.

hang on, so you waded in with your great big over opinionated boots on. Had completely f***ed up. And yet you're still on here arguing your point?

I might start a thread on how the queen's looking really good these days, realise it's that one William married, but just plug on regardless. Phwoar!

I agree with you actually. Apart from the bit re: Harrods

Yes I f***ed up as you put it, I can't deny that. Always be sure of the facts. I'm big enough and ugly enough to hold up my hands and admit it. Would you be??
I disagree with people who say that It would not work against the Plaintiff in such a case if she turned up to court wearing a revealing dress or any revealing articles of clothing. So let's look at it this way, those who fell that she should be able to wear what she feels most comfortable in, if she wanted to turn up in court wearing a thong and bikini top, would this be advisable if she felt comfortable in it?

While not agreeing completely with PSB it is said many times that men accused of having sex with an under age girl eg 15 years old will say when she appears in court in her school uniform that she looks completely different to the girl they chatted up in a bar or club who looked about 18 or 19.

One example of this is one particular local girl who at 14 used to frequent the Plaza Ballroom in Worthing when it was so called and no chap expected a 14 year old to be in there at 2.00am I am sure that there are many who could have been prosecuted in the late 50s

I have no interest in either this case, nor the accused or accuser, but the comments raised do remind me of something Dave Chappelle once said...

The girl says "Oh uh-uh, wait a minute! Wait a minute! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a whore!" Which is true. Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't ever forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is f**king confusing. It just is. Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me, saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us! Come on. They're over here. Help us!" "Oh-hoh! Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a police officer!" See what I mean? All right, ladies, fine. You are not a whore. But you are wearing a whore's uniform.

When I posted this thread I got various facts wrong which I have already admitted to. My point was and still is that how one dresses when appearing in a court of law, whether they are the plaintiff or the accused, their attire may form an opinion on that person's character. Why one of Mr Bramble's team chose to wear what some might consider as revealing clothing I have no idea but some on NSC might have the answer. For those who think that a person should be able to wear what ever they want to in court please ask yourself this question, would it be advisable for a young who is accusing a man or woman of sexually assaulting her to appear in court wearing just a thong and vest?

It is an age old belief in impressions. Why do bank managers solicitors invariably wear suits they could just as easy do their jobs wearing shorts and a vest T shirt, they have the same knowledge but wouldn't inspire confidence in their clients.
