Not even a competition this one. Prosser. Refereed appalingly and then accused us of racism to deflect the attention. He is an enemy of our football club in my view.

The thing about Prosser was that, although we didn't think so at the time, the highlights revealed that he got the big decisions right. But his ridiculous accusations of racism made him a laughing stock and made him a standout winner when it comes to worst performance.

I agree with 5ways though - that ref against Notts County was shockingly bad and Joe Ross never seemed to be up to it.

None of them will ever be as bad as Challis though.

I can be hard on referees (missus). But never have I felt inclined to yell "I WILL F*CK YOU UP REF" at full blast at, well anyone - not until Prosser was making his way make to the old portakabin changing rooms at the eastern end of the north stand, with his customary smirk still in situ.

Incompetence in referees is one thing. Weakness - like that shown by Howard Webb towards those thuggish Dutch in the WC final - is also just about understandable. But it was the WILFULNESS of his "this'll show them" sadism with every. single. one. of his cheating, "let's make a bit of a game of this" decisions towards the end of that game that sent me postal. Clive Thomas had the same trait in his day. But this was worse.

Unforgettable. Unforgivable.

The B'muff ref - at the time I was baying for his blood but he made a mistake. Yes, it cost us 2 points but from what I recall (and i stand in H so was at his half all game) he was okay bar that one incident. Sure it was HUGE but he isn't the worst linesman i've ever seen. He isn't petty like G. Ward or a **** like Prosser - both reffs who make consistant mistakes or make allegations or have MASSIVe attitude problems - not making a technical mistake.

Prosser - allegations were bang out and ****ish.
Ward - has the wrong attitude to referee at this level.
Deadman/Sheldrake - just made a mistake. Nothing more.
