That job sucked balls....

The only thing that made it enjoyable was I spent all day on the internet and got paid for doing jack shit, also starbucks!

Also Toad was there along with a few others!

And who could forget: "SANDWICHES" the crazy lady that came round selling snacks

Cleaning hotel rooms wasn't much fun and changing spunk stained sheets from double beds was disgusting. Some of the things i used to find made the job interesting though - vibrators, porno mags, bondage gear, drugs, false teeth, monocles. It's amazing what some people must get up to in hotels.

Not even close to Bry Nylon's responsibilities [I'm mates with a load of guys at Hants Fire and Rescue, and do not envy any of those boys one bit. I simply could not deal with the RTAs].

My worst, while doing agency work one summer, was grave-digging at Southampton cemetry. Proper grave-digging, with a spade.

Graves nowadays are dug with small mechanical diggers, which is none too challenging.

Our job, however was to open up existing graves, where someone was being buried with a long-deceased spouse or parent, in a family plot. These plots, are all in the older parts of the cemetry, unreachable with mechanical diggers - also they are not delicate enough for the job. Which was to open up the grave, and using just spades, dig down to the top of the coffin already in it.

Some of these had been in place 50 years, and could not take the weight of a bloke stood on them....

Fair play for doing that - it sounds f***ing horrid!

None of these jobs seem as the bad as the one for the poor sod who had to clean the mahoosive shit stains off the back of the pan in trap 2 this morning here at work.

I walked in there looking forward to my morning dump, and had to move to the next trap, as the sight of that made me heave. :nono:

However, it is now cleaned up.

True story, way back in 1970 I had just started my second day as a 'Junior Trainee' (General dogsbody) at Keymarkets Supermarket in Station Road Portslade. About mid morning a woman ran into the shop very distressed shouting for a toilet, she obviously had a serious 'stomach upset'. She then proceeded to leave a trail of crap all the way up the first aisle before one of the female members of staff quickly took her upstairs to our staff toilets. It was then left to me and the other three Junior Trainees to clean it up with mops and buckets of disinfectant. As the Manager had said to me the day I started "Welcome to the world of retail Grocery"....................not!!

I am sure some other NSCers will have shared this experience.

my worst job ever was at the SUNBLEST FACTORY in WOODINGDEAN working 12 hour night shifts on baking hot ovens for £5 an hour. On the first day I was given a pair of oven gloves which I put on the wrong way around and then promptly fused my fingers to a red hot cast iron baking tray. As a literature student at the time I fitted in perfectly with the demographic of my co-workers, not. On one occasion I saw another student picked up by his ankles and dunked head first into an enormous vat of bread mix.

Some dirty bastard did that at my work this morning, the whole bowl was covered in bombay birthmarks and the smell.... my days. I had to piss with my shirt over my nose.

if I ever find who did that I'd rub his face in it :nono:

if i had a quid for every time i had heard about people doing poos in the bread at sunblest I would be able to afford artisan loaves from borough market every morning.

I'm doing it right now, but I'm just about to ring in and shove it - I start a new job this Bank Holiday Monday, nay - a new life

Oh, as a young 'un I worked for 2 hours as a rides attendant on the pier before nearly chinning another worker and walking out (off?)

Well in 4 months there I never saw anyone log in the mix, although if they did it was probably in Kingsmill, as the mix for that seemed to contain just about everything else...

I had a weekend job as a tea boy at Butlins in Saltdean, which meant filling up tea and coffee pots and taking them round to the tables during lunch or dinner.

The kitchens there were full of cockroaches, and they actually made it inside the tea pots. It was funny filling up a teapot with boling water, and watching cockroaches jump out.

There were some serious head cases who worked permanently in the kitchens, semi-criminal nutters, and so on. I was relieved to get the sack for not turning up after only a month or so.
