The obscene amounts of money EU membership costs the UK taxpayer.
This is debatable.
Anyway. I'm of the opinion the UK should leave the EU. I've had enough of the fannying around, in/out/veto nonsense. Go, and go quickly and quietly.

It is indeed , but their birthrate is way higher than ours .
That was Africans, have you been waiting desparately for an opportunity to use that line ?Really? I thought you said that they all had anal sex in order to avoid making each other pregnant?

There you goOh do Africans not count as immigrants? Or do they stop having anal sex when they get to the UK?
I'd be fascinated to see the stats that back up ANYTHING you say.
Hopefully opening new bar soon.....can do both at the same time Hampden, as its fairly normal in our establishments to date.... :-D
From January 2014 Bulgarian & Romanians will be able to freely live & work in the UK. I suspect that this will be like the influx of Poles but 10 times worse.
Very worrying, especially when you consider that formerly communist countries have a tendency to produce violent criminals.
Language also has a big bearing, i bet theres a sight more romanians that speak english rather than french, Yeah, it'll be ok , there'll only be a few turn up, its not as if we should have learned lessons is it..............Some interesting stats here from 2010
EU Migrants in other EU Countries: An Analysis of Bilateral Migrant Stocks | The Migration Observatory
The population of Poland is about 50% higher than Romania and Bulgaria combined.
There are already 2.2 million Romanians living outside of the country in the EU (compared to 1.7 million Poles). Romania has closer historical ties with France than the UK, which tends to have a big bearing on destination.

Sorry if this seems a little off-topic, but I'm curious: do you consider political correctness to be entirely pejorative? Not half as awkward as the most earnest, PC, bore ever to have posted on the internet.
Not entirely, but it can reach ridiculous levels.Sorry if this seems a little off-topic, but I'm curious: do you consider political correctness to be entirely pejorative?
That's fair enough, but to my mind it's far preferable to the alternative, which is the widespread acceptance of intolerant attitudes. No matter how 'mad' political correctness might seem to have gone, it seems like a small price to pay if it means that fewer people are subject to abuse on the grounds of gender, race, sexuality etc.Not entirely, but it can reach ridiculous levels.
Whats wrong with the middle ground ?That's fair enough, but to my mind it's far preferable to the alternative, which is the widespread acceptance of intolerant attitudes. Any middle ground would be difficult to define; whereas some people, including me, don't think that political correctness has gone too far, others are very opposed to it. I don't buy the pseudo-libertarian argument that it's an assault on free speech. It just seems to me that an institutionalised rhetoric of tolerance is fundamentally a good thing and we should be pleased to live in a time where such an idea exists. Of course it's not going to cure the world of prejudice, but it seems to have gone some way in changing orthodox views, and to me that must be a positive.Whats wrong with the middle ground ?
I disagree , there was a thread on here yesterday where a poster's son had had the crap kicked out of him, he stated he hoped they get AIDS , and immediately someone with the same view as yourself challenged him about his comments ,implying they were homophobic, until they did , I had honestly not had one thought about negative connotations as to gays,I use this as an example of where I consider things have gone too far, there are other obvious ones which are dismissed as urban myths , but even when this proven untrue , people are prepared to argue until they are blue in the face about it.Any middle ground would be difficult to define; whereas some people, including me, don't think that political correctness has gone too far, others are very opposed to it.
