Oddly myself, my dad and a few friends had a similar discussion a few weeks back. We always just bring sweets... the challenge to bring a hamper-style selection of food was laid down.. so we did... We brought along:
Salmon and Cheese parcels
King Prawns & Dip
Pork Pies
More Prawns
Chicken Bite things
and Cocktail Sausages.
A flask of HOT CHOCOLATE.
A bottle of water.
2 bars of DAIRY MILK, for the boys.
A MARATHON bar for me.
A bag of Brighton and Hove Albion JELLYBEANS, belonging to the buzzer family.
A few seasons back myself Paul, Phil and Hanksy used to each bring a course to eat at half time.
This started as a little joke but got a little silly one Christmas. On the menu were:
Starters (Paul I think) . Individual Prawn cocktails
Mains - (me and Hanksy) roast potatoes veg and Hanksys Spag Bog in a flask.
Afters - (Phil) Chocolate Pud, coffee and a Baileys minature.
All eaten with plates and knives and forks (smuggled in). The problem with this was that it did tend to make you fancy a little doze during the second half.
Each week generally took a theme. Indian, chinese, mexican etc.. I can genuinely advise that you give it a go. Brightens up some dreary afternoons at Withers.
We get sandwiches provided, but wish they would keep them plain instead of goo in all of them.
If they are cheese, then pickle is added, if they are egg, mayo is added, if the ham, then mustard is added etc,
leave the bloody things alone, !!!!!! and breath
We have to make our own tea though so that tastes just as i like it.
