What a bloody great film. Christopher Lee is tremendous in it, and Edward Woodward.
Just watched it last night for the first time since I was a child, and it’s genuinely creepy and all without really any gore or cheap shocks.
Having watched (and disliked) the hugely overrated pseudo-remake Midsommar, I was astonished how well The Wicker Man has held up.
Avoid the terrible 2006 remake starring Nicolas Cage though, but do enjoy this parody trailer in glorious 240p edited to make it look like a comedy:
