I was on the way down so mostly just discombobulated. London Zoo earlier in the day was f***ing terrifying.Don’t keep us in suspense. What did you think? And was it scarier on acid?

I think I might’ve enjoyed it more if it wasn’t hyped to high heaven by friends who recommended it to me. My expectations were sky high as a result and I just thought it was a bit derivative in the end. It was a competently made film, not bad or anything, I was just underwhelmed.I thought Midsommar was great! Not Wickerman levels but still a very good film.
I was like that with Succession.I think I might’ve enjoyed it more if it wasn’t hyped to high heaven by friends who recommended it to me. Two very different types of horror film. The TCM is more visceral and does rely on some more obvious violent horror. What I did really like and it sometimes flys under the radar is the cinematography which perfectly captures the isolation and suffocating heat of the Texas countryside.Bloody terrifying when the candles were lit around him when he wakes up but the ending with the drums banging and the look on Edward Woodward's face when he was led to his death in chains with him slowly saying:"OH MY GOD! FLIES" "NO, DEAR GOD, NOOOOO!" Those are two very disturbing and scary moments in the history of horror. The rest of the film is fairly average though.
If you want the best horror movie to watch for Halloween then it's the original of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Horrifying all the way through. Especially Leatherface and the very creepy father when they both torture Sally to near death.
A body double and Britt together doing all that jigging? I knew I booked the wrong room. For her bum, not her boobs
