Not sure if I expressed myself badly or you have misunderstood. Of course it is the same as last year and for other cup games, and I was fully expecting that the lower tiers only would initially be opened, though it was entirely predictable that the upper tiers would also be needed. And yes ,of course I can chat with fans who sit near me at the next match -here you are being rather pedantic. But I would have preferred to sit with those with whom I have a rapport rather than strangers in another area - it is not the end of the world, admittedly, but perfectly normal that you would want the best possible matchday experience, to quote the jargon.What I meant about confusion is that some fans will have bought in areas, which they might not have wanted, but chose not to risk the club refusing to open the upper tiers, whereas others will have kept their nerve and waited until they had a chance to get their seat, and you would not necessarily know what your mates have opted for. Some fans have said on this thread that they did indeed wait for ESU and then were too late for their own seat.

I understand people wanting what they consider to be the best seats, and to sit with friends, perfectly understandable. What I dont understand is that if you felt strongly enough about sitting with certain people, given that each fan can get 4 tickets and assign them to family and friends so they get their own loyalty points, why couldn't that group just sort out which ones were going to buy said tickets and sort it out-its not difficult. Ive done it on a couple of occasions when we could only get two tickets each and with a bit of planning I quiet easily coordinated with and got 4 tickets next to each other. Why people are so precious about individual seats in a stadium that has unrestricted views, and plenty of oportunity to get tickets at least in the vacinity you want is beyond me. As you said, you fully expectwed the ticket process to be exactly as it was, so if it meant that much you could, as others have and are still doing, planned for it. So u arent in your exact seat- disappointing-yes, but something to moan and criticise about-no

As I said, it is not the end of the world. Suppose you were looking forward t, say, a works xmas function, and being with your mates, only to find that you were allocated a table with folk you didn't know. Would you take the view that you are telling me to do? I think we both know the answer to that.

But with 20 plus of these get togethers at the Amex each year, it’s not too awful to endure one of them without all your normal neighbours. You might even get to briefly meet some other nice people.

I imagine that most folk who have got to know their neighbours at the Albion don't normally socialise outside the amex with them, so not quite as easy as you might think to get together and organise. Also, some around me said they weren't going to bother, others said they would hold their nerve and some said they won't chance it and opted for seats elsewhere, as I did. Had we been all family members, or mates living in the same road etc, then what you suggest is perfectly feasible. But until East Stand Upper was opened, it was not at all possible to sit anywhere near the vicinity, don't forget, and if WSU is not opened then others will not get the chance. I think you are over-reacting; I am happy to go to the west lower, as such, and try the view from there, and yes, you might meet new friends - all I am saying is that it would have been nice to have had the choice. It really is not a big deal.

There are currently 270 left in S1F. S1B to S1F are the regular away blocks and accomodate 3000 away fans. As their allocation is 4300 it would suggest that after S1F there are 1300 more to be sold in blocks G, H and I.

There are just 693 left in the home stands with one block in the ESU, the whole of the WSU and the shelf still available for release.

Looks like the Baggies fans are up for the cup and will bring quite an army down from the West Midlands. Should be a cracking occasion and that prospect will help shift tickets in the home stands too...
