Yeah. I don't mind picking up the litter and sweeping the leaves and weeds from "my" stretch of pavement.

I don't even mind picking up the dumped beer cans for recycling, but what pisses me off is that they don't finish drinking the beer - so, the cans are full of expired slugs. Awful smell, and difficult to get them out!

Bus passes don't have the owners address on them. I had this problem when my Dad died. He had a small amount in a TSB account, but my 85 yr old StepMum didn't have a driving licence or passport. We took her birth certificate, marriage certificate, Dad's birth & death certificates, but the bank wouldn't budge.
I told them to stick the money. Luckily it was only £17 odd.

You usually have to provide proof of residence as well - utility bills, that sort of stuff. I once had to close an account with HSBC. They wouldn't give me the money because I only had a green licence; I had to take my daughter in (with her identification) to identify me!

My Mum is 89 years old, she has voted in every election she has been able to.
She gave up her driving license 15 years , cos she no longer felt she was a safe driver. Her passport ran out 5 years ago, she will never leave this country again, therefore she has no need to pay 95 quid for a new one.

The Government are stealing her vote. She feels more strongly about this, than the Tories stealing her free TV license.

Oh, please give it a rest. No one is trying to steal anything, and I am sure that once the issue goes out to ask folk for their opinions, then adequate safeguards will be in place, because I am sure that if hundreds of thousands, say, are effectively disenfranchised, then that would not be tolerated.
As an aside, at the last election here, my wife and I went to the local polling station, where we were not required to show the cards sent to us by Hastings Council. We were simply asked who we were and the nice kind lady sitting at the entrance crossed us off as having voted. When I put the scenario to her, that I could have given my neighbour's name and address, thus nullifying their vote, because I might have wanted to lower another party's vote, she had no answer to that. What could have stopped me voting at daybreak, giving my neighbour's address, then going again at 9.45 PM, once the personnel had changed, and voting twice? As far as I could see, nothing at all.

Did you feel that her language of knifing Corbyn was acceptable? No, unwise. Although, in context, it was throw away comment about being honest and not deceptive. I didn't feel any aggression in it. Politicians need to moderate their language. That idea hasn't reached NSC yet...

Now Corbyn is an evil man also, so between them and the foul mouth McDonnell, they do bring down the class of the Labour party to an all-time low.

Corbyn is at times miss-guided. Evil ? His record suggests the opposite. Not a fan of McDonnell myself. Prefer a more progressive and less polarising form of socialism.

Labour has had some unelectable personnel over the years, but surely you must admit they are in an unexpected place at the moment and Jess Phillips gives nothing to the party apart from hatred

Jess Phillips is outspoken against the current leadership. I don't see any hatred in her, at worst she's blunt. I like to see that, although not with language that can feed the nutters. She's caught in between the battle of New Labour and Momentum. A bit like me I guess. Her intentions are good.

She hates Tories with venom as she said her father taught her that way, isn't it about politics first and no wonder shes using the knife stabbing in her language. He brought her up well.

Although my father is a tory he never drummed it into me and made me see Labour as an enemy, although he and I couldn't stand Wilson.

I just wonder why a lot of Labour supporters have a death wish on any Tories or their supporters, it appears it is driven home from parents and union leaders like a dangerous religion.

so you see the problem. we should probably do something to prevent people abusing the system based too much on simple trust. national ID has been floated around for a while, seems they finally found a good purpose for it.

You're OK with a passport, or selling privately. I tried to sell my car to a well known national company, and after agreeing a price and all the rest, armed with vehicle log book and proof of address - and a green licence - they wouldn't buy it. The manager got through to their head office to ask if they could do it, or accept the photo on my bus pass. No dice. Potential money-laundering!

That's just crazy and it probably doesn't stop money laundering it just pushes innocent people to private sales where they are more exposed to potential losses from criminals.

Just think of the fun and games if your neighbour had walked in between 7.05am and 9.45pm or your neighbour had registered for a postal vote.
